Does anyone here remember seeing a video for Girl/Boy song on MTV Amp in ‘96? I feel like it was the first thing I saw and heard by Aphex Twin but I can’t find any trace of the videos existence online.

Didn’t mean to post thread twice. Taptalk gave me an error on original post.

Thanks for posting this. But it is not the one no. It would have been made in the 90s. MTV could have very well thrown some random imagery together. I remember it having lots of line art that kind of turned into fractal chaos. Lots of colors on white background. Almost like Radiohead's OK Computer cover art mutating into different illustrations or something. It did not look like a typical aphex twin video. But I had never seen/heard typical aphex twin. I just remember seeing and hearing it for the first time and it getting stuck in my head for weeks.

Conversely there is also this :

Makes me feel a little less crazy. I know they featured the song on this mix because it was in video rotation on the show. But it must have been built by someone at MTV and forgotten about/never really blessed by WARP/Richard? I never saw it anywhere else. I think I saw it on AMP only once or twice. I wish I had more information to give for hunting it down.

Was looking into this and this was the first time I realized there was a video for Ageispolis:

Again possibly an MTV produced visual version rather anything 'official'

Looks kinda like FSOLs videos circa ISDN so wonder if Buggy G. Riphead is behind it (like with the Westworld video: Link]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuK3yspOKKc]Link )

I don't think I've ever seen the video you're talking about, but I had that Amp compilation. It was my introduction to Aphex, actually.

I swear swear I saw the video for On on Nickelodeon during their commercial breaks in the US in the mid-90s, edited down to a minute or two. It wasn't unusual for them to play bumpers like that every couple hours.

I have the official copy on VHS, and it was on WATMM at one point in our videos section...

A few years ago I found a torrent with a few random episodes but it came with a .txt file listing all the tracks used in both series.... According to that it doesn't seem like girl/boy ever featured. Here's a copy of the document for reference anyways : https://pastebin.com/zc6H5eKc

Total long shot but it wasn't Sun Electric - Meccano by any chance? It's kinda like if Aphex made Girl Boy in the middle of a Tribal Gathering circa '93

Do not think so, but this is awesome. Oddly enough the Collapse video is more like what I remember. That constant spattering of color. Just not jacked up on 21st century visual effects steroids like Collapse obviously. So similar to all of these. But yeah. I think I will have to track down actual live tv home movie tapes from around 96 to find it.

Found this. Do not see an airdate for Girl/Boy Song video but I know it was on the comp.

I suppose it is possible that I was listening to the orange cd and possibly watching AMP with the sound down. But I just don't remember it that way. Anyway. Weird. It would have been the first time I heard Aphex Twin so it seems crazy I have remembered something so vividly for so long, incorrectly, but not impossible obviously.
