I was aware of the robot talking at the start of The Funnies; but when I downloaded a copy of SIMYL from Bleep it seemed to have disappeared, which was mildly jarring. Checking on Youtube, other copies don't have this intro either. So, does anybody else have the intro missing? I'm suspecting it might've been a copyright control thing.

So this is a very vague post for which I am sorry. But he played a track about half way through his set and had a sample of a guy screaming the name charlie (charrrr--leeee). It was eerie and excellent and I need it. Has anyone come across this track before?

http://icasea.bandcamp.com/album/benefit-compilation-for-japan Autechre was getting a lot of hype in their forum for their track on this BUT NOBODY MENTIONED THE LUKE VIBERT TRACK And while it's got repeated samples, as ever, I really do think this is a new record for the number of different vocal samples in one track perhaps even edging out Belief File with all the Yous and it's a pretty hot groove to boot go check it~

only just listened to this the other day and holy shit it's awesome shit. i think a few/lot of people have been in agreement that his recent out hasn't been as strong, although i still enjoy the hell out of it. but when you take stuff like this, plug and his work with jeremy simmonds, this dude was just so much more awesome and creative(/inspired?) in the 90s. i have no idea why but i want to listen to it at 5 in the morning after a sleepless all nighter.

Has anybody got these in decent quality anywhere? (320 or above is what I consider decent although really it's much of a muchness) I'm considering buying the Big Soup vinyl (as it is love) and I might be influenced more to do so if people don't have these, as I could put them up in high quality if so desired. And of course I'd like to hear them either way to see whether the vinyl really is worth it.

I don't know if this is already here, but whatever. I found this "unreleased" mix from Vibert's official page. It sounds terribly good, and I think you'll like it too. http://www.wagonchrist.com/p/web-releasesunreleased.html

Hey anyone know what the sample at the beginning of voyage into the unknown on Big Soup is? I love that there is a luke vibert subforum, the only reason its not busier is because he basically seems to be quite normal so no one has crazy conspiracy stories to liven things up

Luke often drops this acid track with military marching samples in it, it's in various sets of his and when I heard it again in his set from Bloc this year I realised it was about time I found out what it was. Here's the set, it's about the third track in and it has various vocal snippets including the marching chants of "left, right, left, right, left". Luke Vibert @ Bloc 2011

it was available on the the US version of Redone. Anyone have a respectable copy? I have a file that someone uploaded in .wma (129 kbps). It's a pretty cool track, one of his first, if not the first, 'drill n bass" tracks (i hate that term too).

http://www.bonafidezine.com/luke-vibert-x-bonafide-beats-06/ Just saw this posted on the wagonchristsource and take no credit for finding it. Of course like a good reader of the rules I did a forum search before posting, so if it's jazz hey I tried. Looking forward to listening to it - Vibert hiphop mix ca. 1999: :sup:

Trying to figure out these lyrics Here's a tune from days of old I <?> <?> a time ago With the signal sounding there Think about the <?> <?> air Here's a tune from days of old I <?> <?> a time ago Therefore this is how it goes [sounds like gold or goed] With the signal sounding there Think about the <?> <?> air <?><?> Time for country men Some of the syllables are messed up, there are "s" and "b" sounds where they don't belong. Awesome tune nonetheless.

Totally skipped over in the poll thread, so now you have to have a separate one. Track 4 on Classid gets me every time. New one sounds promising as well, but perhaps not as light and fun. Discuss.

I've always wondered what this break is.. Luke and Mike Paradinas always sample it and speed it up to make who I am assuming is James Brown sound like a giggly bastard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxKEgMRsvTU "hah-hah!" and then the other one you can hear all over he and Mike's stuff that's like, "idah-heh!" Thanks to anyone who can post the source.
