Timeless Faded light to cherished ones with all our might Sent from heaven to sweeten our plight All our energy and all our care To these and their Creator fair Waiting on the journey to find our strength Only found in times of great length To which we plan to enjoy the end But fate ever had it this happiness to rend Where to turn for comfort now? The journey’s over, and broken the plow With which we toiled our lives away Now left without reason to want to stay To start again the thought prevails With hope that on this dreary trail We might find solace in our minds As we leave the departed behind It was not time for youth to die But the wo…

Properly responding to racism, homophobia, etc. 1 2

If you make a racist/homophobic/etc. remark in the wrong situation, the response is generally, "That's wrong. You can't say those things." Telling people that only makes them dig in deeper, as they feel someone else's morality is being imposed on them + they're being told what to do. It's much more effective to react to it as you would someone cutting in line, being obnoxious on their cell phone, etc. You know, an "Ugh, what an idiot!" reaction. It's not your business to lecture anyone; it's not your job to teach them manners. Just don't add to it, and maybe send a withering glance to the party responsible. FOR THOSE JUST TUNING IN: i'm just trying to make a point…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw9O-HO5A84&feature=feedlik I'm absolutely in love with Neon Knome. The sense of humor is so weird. Sadly it will forever remain an [Adult Swim] pilot. It has, however, evolved into a Cartoon Network show now called "Problem Solverz". What pisses me off is that [Adult Swim], a while back, pitted several pilots against eachother, and users voted on them. The shittiest shows ever were nominated, and that god awful Pop Singer CG bullshit won. I think Neon Knome and Snake and Bacon are phenomenal shows. http://www.adultswim.com/promos/bkbuns2010/index.html Anyway, discuss what you think of it. A couple episodes of Problem Solver…

Was just thinking about this today, so I went to their site and saw they had a new video. Not as good as the originals I think, but for those who haven't seen... http://www.strindbergandhelium.com/

In order to campaign for one of my favourite teams, I decided to go on chat roulette and ask the girls if they could pose for me with some robots. I started off my project with a resounding failure: It seemed that these girls didn't have robots. For example, I asked this girl if she had a robot but the best she could come up with was this: This girl was really trying to be helpful: Emphasis on trying: Oh well, at least she was closer than this girl: But I didn't want to give up. So I decided to just hold up my own robot and take some quick pictures: It turns out…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb8ZrJL-NHM As far as I can gather this is real, although it's so hilariously bad I kinda wonder. Apparently this guy is missing, presumed dead.

So I had put off watching Oldboy because I didn't really feel like watching some deep dark artsy fucked up Japanese Korean movie about a war prison or some shit(what i assumed it probably was, based off of what I had read). I finally got around to watching it and was pleasantly surprised.... at first. I started watching it and was thinking, wow I guess that is pretty fucked up, putting some guy in a crazy prison for 15 years, he must be fucked up because of it, this must be why people say it is a "fucked up" subject matter. But after it starting going I realized it wasn't really about that but more of the guy seeking revenge and understanding as to why he was imprisoned. …

iPhone tracks your movements 1 2 3 4

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/apr/20/iphone-tracking-prompts-privacy-fears There is a program you can download to have a look at your locations file. http://petewarden.github.com/iPhoneTracker/ It's restricted to weekly movements but apparently the file contains location info down to the second. I'm curious to try it out when I get home. This is rather shit though really, even if it's not doing anything. If you found a phone you could easily figure out where the person lives and what times they are always out of the house and then go in a smear shit on the walls.

Who all participates in this glorious holiday? If so, what do you do to celebrate? Also, is this just an U.S. thing or do other countries participate as well? :flower: :flower:

This is the good stuff. I recently bought a 500ml bottle of PVA glue, and I can't get enough of it. I rub it into my hands, wait for it to dry, and peel it all off. It's so simple, but it brings a world of joy. It's relaxing, it's soothing, it feels great, and it's insanely addictive. If you thought bubblewrap was fun, wait until you try this! I think humans still have an instinct to pick and peel stuff. Maybe this is how chimps feel when they groom each other. Anyway, I strongly recommend this. Get some PVA glue and give it a try! You won't regret it.

Post your RSSI (radio signal strength indicator) numbers. I'm trying to figure out what the average signal level is. Just hold alt or option on your keyboard, and click the bluetooth icon, it should show you some extra information. Mine: keyboard: -61dbm trackpad: -71dbm They're both about a foot away from my macbook, with the lid closed.

an idealistic, probably futile, and possibly deceptive (I have not read the actual law) development in the relationship between people and their planet. nevertheless this at least provides a solid precedent for future steps in the right direction IMO.

Sculptris

I have been playing around in Sculptris. here is a character I'm creating: Sculptris is a 3D sculpting tool which was developed by a Swedish guy over 6 months. It's now been acquired by Pixologic who make Zbrush and will be developed further. It's amazingly intuitive and fun to use. It's recommended that you use a graphics tablet. It's free to download while it's still being developed. Site: http://www.sculptris.com/ It can be downloaded directly from this link: http://download.pixologic01.com/download.php?f=Sculptris/sculptris.zip
