I was just wondering what u all mainly do with ur drum programing? me myself i usually loop some breakbeats, use sample cd's or limelite. what does everyone else here prefer to use? Im not totally sure how to tweak breakbeats or amen loops to the fullist as id want too, i know u gotta split the whole beat (hi hats, kick, snare ect.) in order to cut it up properly but im not totally sure how to do this. anyone got any ideas?

i just got one. this baby sounds SOOOOO good!!! basically, everything i do with it, sounds like ... well like a bunch of beautiful lesbian angels kissing each other. and me. seriously, anything you touch, any changes you make, it results in another warm, fuzzy and epic sound that just screams INSPIRATION! it's the synth i've been looking for all my life. for now at least. the polysix stays of course, that one's a whole different beast.

where should I send my demo(s)? 1 2
by Guest No Pomo- 35 replies

I have multiple projects that have tons of material stocked up. One is an ultra odd experimental album off bizarre sounds, and the other is my usual trying to be decent Sam White electronic/electronic music/sampling music. What labels should I send demos too? For the experimental just a net release would definately be fine. I would like to see how decent of a label would accept my normal stuff though I'm not expecting much. I dunno, just want to see what suggestions you all have.

Greetings. I am new to watmm as well as to making music. Please check out these tracks and tell me what you think. I will post the entire album if you guys like. The name of the album is "World as Difference and Repetition" (a take on Schopenhauer's World as Will and Representation). I worked really hard on these so your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Les elephants Sun, light, moon a sunday drive farewell

Post You Mastering Techniques 1 2
by Guest JW Modestburns- 26 replies

Sup guys. I know mastering has been discussed in other threads but they seem to be about a specific problem. I wanted to start a thread where anyone could post their knowledge or methods for mastering tracks and post production. This has always been one of my week points, and I'm sure some other heads around here could use some tips also. Personally: I use reason to program my tracks. I try to get the different instruments/noises sounding as good as possible, then I export each track separately (Track1=drums; Track2=bass; Track3=lead synth etc, etc). Next I import my tracks into cool edit and do my finishing touches, which are all by ear. I use a fairly g…

Headphones

Sorry if there is already a thread, sure there must be but i couldn't find it. Basically, in a nutshell, I don't know much about technical terms for impedance and ohms and gold plated cables and what have you. I'm painfully aware when i have a pair of shit ones on my head, but i cant tell from words on a webpage which are good and which not. I want headphones which are: -good sound quality (especially able to handle bass reasonably well- without clipping madly) -suitable for monitoring my tracks on -reasonably portable and hardwearing -not going to crush my ears after a few hours wear - cost less than 50 quid, or as cheap as possible or a good …

A Request For Renoise Users
by Guest Wall Bird- 2 replies

So I've been doing a bit of reading on Renoise for the last few days after I got interested hearing you guys talk about it around here. Unfortunately the link to download the demo version on their website is busted and has been for several days. I've been unable to find another link to the download anywhere on the internet and I was wondering if anyone here still had a copy of the Renoise 1.8 Mac Installer and if so could you please transfer it to me(?). My e-mail address is WallBirdMusic@gmail.com I would really appreciate if someone could do this for me. Thanks a lot.

i'm going to save up for one of these next i want to use the 4 inputs to add different effects to 4 different sounds (probably drums) while simultaneously having it run 1 or 2 or 3 separate chains of synthesized sounds (which are all playing different notes and stuff, perhaps each on their own midi channel?) does this sound about right? anybody have one? or used one?

ok i'm getting pretty pissed off now, cause i cant ever get a track to sound, full enough! and i believe it has to do with either my fucked up ears, or my shity programming. it seems as though the bass is the only piece of melody that is laid down proper, whilst i try to scrable the other melodies from say, 3 different instruments over each other, but it never ends up sounding good, as in the notes used perhaps are not laid out so that full harmony along side melody is achieved to create a beautiful balance. i thought the problem might lye in the basis that what ever note the bass is, say for example A, one melody wouyld have to be 2 keys(of the key range) below…

td-3kw for those model number fetishists. any experiences, tips, thoughts, anything? (actually i just wanted to gloat really.) haven't played the drums for like 15 years, so i reckon i'll need a bit of practise. cunts don't include a drum key, and the snare requires one, so... off to sound control this afternoon. ho-hum.

I'm guessing there is an art to this. So am curious what are some good settings in order take some of the nastiness out of drums (particularly snares) at a higher volumes in order to give them a more eveness/smoothness. Cheers in advance.

Decent VST Vocoder
by Guest The Bro- 6 replies

Tried the Analog X vocoder applicatoin and it sounded very promising but in the end seems to just crash each time you put a wave file into it. What's the best free vocoder out there? I've download a few but none of them seem much good.
