Has anyone else heard rumor of AFX doing some collaboration on the production of Bjork's new album?

OK, I've just opened Come To Daddy (Mummy Mix) in Audacity, and i tried copying a tiny bit of silence and pasting it at the start of the left channel, so it pushes the two channels out of sync, and it makes the song sound so much more active, like the song as already got so much stuff going on and changing all the time, and this out-of-sync thing makes it sound even better! Try different amounts of silence and see what works best, about 0.2 seconds of extra silence at the start is good I'm also gonna try it with ziggomatic 17

i've often wondered what exactly he does to crank out these superdj sets, such as the recent melt festival. judging by that picture with the wheelchair guys he seems to have a laptop and a table full of gear, i didn't notice any turntables or anything. my guess is that he has a mostly pre-fabbed set on the laptop and as hte set goes on he can turn to the equipment present and filter various things, maybe add in some drops/kills, layer in some other stuff, etc... but i wouldn't suspect him to be intensively beatmatching some of his uptempo stuff into a jungle track, or even the hiphoptrack into alberto balsalm or whatever it would be... i mean i know he can do it, as…

Come on, i just really want to know if he has stopped everything altogether or is currently writing any new material. And i am a fairly new AFX fan (been a fan for one year now), so i don't reallly know much about what's going on, but if and when he tours, how do you find out, coz his official website is non existent as each of his little websites represent an album e.g = drukqs website.

Sadly I have no turntable so I downed the tracks a couple of years ago but to get rid of my guilty conscience I rushed out to get the re-issue as soon as I heard about it. Playing the cd I realized that the mp3's I downed backthen must have been ripped at 33RPM and I actually like it better this way ! Am I the only one feeling this way ? Is there something wrong with me ?

It says on Wikipedia that the tracks on Chosen Lords were slightly changed from the original Analord versions to give the tracks a cohesive flow. Is this true?

It's 'heat' (PS please don't ban me) (PPS - In all seriousness... this is by far the best thing he's ever done (minus the bonus tracks... but they don't count... and although they sound unfinished they're kinda neat anyway). Considering there's not much on it... it seems that his main problem is quality control, this is the only album where he didn't include a single crap track, they're all aaaaawsome) (PPPS - HEAT)

Thee Drukqs Extra-Special Vinyl Box
by Guest Thisket- 2 replies

Anyone want my copy? It's the real deal on that ungodly, tasty virgin vinyl. I've played it once (to record it to CD). Box in 9 out of 10 condition (hard to keep them intact, because it's so heavy!). I'd charge $60 plus $10 shipping in the US, $20 internationally. Paypal or mailed payment. You may tell me how inappropriate this is or haggle. I'd like this to go to someone good.

OK Then, here's how it goes: I've taken a spectrogram analysis of 3 aphex twin songs, all you have to do is work out which song was used for which spectrogram image. First one to correctly identify them will win magical powers Good luck! Spectrogram image A: Spectrogram image B: Spectrogram image C:

This was the old KISS FM interview I had on joyrex.com back in the day, and Avinit sent it to me to post - enjoy! One of the few times you'll hear Cordialatron played at 33rpm - I think it sounds better that way myself! Aphex Twin & Grant Live On The Abstract Dance 38MB RAR file Sorry about the RAR - I couldn't be arsed to convert it, plus RAR is a better compression format than ZIP anyways.

Aphex Edits 1 2

Call it sacrilege if you want, but although rdj is undoubtedly very talented, some of his tracks could be improved with a bit of editing, IMHO Ever wished an Aphex track could be just slightly different to make it totally perfect? Suggest hypothetical changes here. If I could travel back in time to RDJs studio when he was making these tracks, and magically influence him with hypnosis (or maybe just the offer of a pint), here's the changes I'd get him to make: Acrid Avid Jam Shred great until 04:34 but then gets dull. needs a different ending, e.g. after 04:34 repeat the last 16 bars into a fade Donkey Rhubarb lovely but too long and too much repe…

Unreleased Aphex - Need help for Discog 1 2 3
by Guest theflame...- 74 replies

Morning all, how it going? Im trying to put together a discog of Richard James's output and need some help. I've got all the released down and all the songs he's mentioned in interviews and stuff, and all the different mixes of the different tunes, but suspect that im missing a huge amount of stuff out - particularly tracks that he's played live but never released. I know there was a thread on the old WATMM, but if anyone's got anything useful they'd like to share, thatd be awesome Thanks!

what track do you reckon RDJ spent the most time/effort on? 1 2 3
by Guest Death and Taxes- 54 replies

not necessarily what's your favorite or whats the best track, but objectively, which track sounds like the most thought and time went into it. i'm going to say ziggomatic. i still hear new details and tweaks and things done on each little drum hit every time i listen to it. the track is constantly evolving with each bar. it's fucking mental. the subtle toying with reverb. the timbre constantly changing. it's a huge expansive piece, yet sublimely cohesive. a book could be written about this song. lives have probably begun and ended over this song. coincidentally, this actually IS the best track and my favorite track conversely, a track like the ele…

squarepusher Who owns Aphex Twin? 1 2

here's some interview excerpts from the magazine Groove, what would you make of this?: What does WARP Records mean to you today? "(laughs) Not that much. The difference between them and any other record label is getting less, that's why I won't release any new releases on WARP in the future." So why do you release your new double album "Drukqs" on WARP? "Uumm, that's a good question though. I'm somehow in a contract that says I have to release on their label. But I don't have any problem with that, so it's no big deal. Me and Squarepusher are starting our own record label now. I did these acid remixes ("2 Remixes by AFX", MEN 1). That's our first rel…

Microphone feedback in Boxing Day?
by Guest LJG- 9 replies

So in Boxing Day, there's a little squeal at 3:45 I think, sounds to me like microphone feedback. Any thoughts on whether or not the track was recorded from an amp, and perhaps any guesses (if it is in fact feedback) why that might have been left in the track? I don't have the vinyl, but I'm listening to Chosen Lords, perhaps the tracks are somewhat different...
