  1. To me the simplicity of Whities 004 is still where it's at.
  2. Just tried a few, most (but not all) indeed don't work and just fetch an empty file.
  3. Love the last three tracks, esp. Major Miner.
  4. Bonne année les cocos!
  5. My short answer is : Confield is better but Chiastic is my favorite.
  6. The two Shaffer / Henry samples in Mangle always warm my heart: There's something about the breaks in the Box Energy remix that always felt to me much, much more impressive at 33rpm (which is the speed I played it at before encountering a cd version) at 45rpm, everything flies off too fast to land and make an effect. But at 33, man, what buttery funk. (I know alternate speeds feel like fanfiction of sorts, but on an unmarked vinyl, that felt fair game — perhaps intentional. There a couple of tracker tracks done around the same time on druQks that are also suspiciously placed in a different order than the cd.) This post would be a good place to plug the original DJ Pierre track, which is a monster. So is, of course, 808 State's Flow Coma : despite Richard once pretending he always remixed lesser songs, the two originals off 2 remixes are... the best acid house ever?
  7. Aw hell yeah is right. Comparing the two preview tracks to the muddy cassette->youtube rip, it sounds fantastic, huge and detailed. Not to mention suddenly in actual stereo.
  8. The rest feel like tracks, while the first one is more at the scope of an atmospheric phenomenon.
  9. First track is where it's at for me. Good stuff!
  10. Dead Shark Eyes in lossless!!!
  11. I built a two-meter-long lamprey plaster model for a primary school exhibit. It stayed in the family for way too long after that.
