listening to some early black dog/black dog productions tunes i noticed their occasional acid was quite good and came adequate to their style.

unfortunately black dog acid is quite rare in their whole work, but there are two i especially love:

curiously, they are both my favorite from Bytes and Spanners, respectively.

psil-cosyin from 7:30 goes pure acidgasm.

there is an acid mix of the track Merck (Bytes) in the bootleg that boredrom uploaded to watmm, some months ago. it's about 15 minutes and kicks ass as well:

there is also the peel session's version of psil-cosyin:

if these lads would ever think of making a record of black dog acid only, i am sure it would be

so good!

Yup Psil Cosyin is fairly sexy, especially that Peel Sessions one.

I presume when you say "early" you mean when it was Ken Andy and Ed. But Ive have enough of this "original line up was better" shite. Theyre different eras and I rate them both very highly

yeah they are (very) different eras and different people like will like 1 era more than another, or both eras, for different reasons.

younger ppl might prefer the new era.. whereas most older ppl, if you like Plaid, will prefer the 'Golden Oldy' era.

or.... some older ppl will dig the new era more simply cos they're mates with ppl in/associated with the new era. and vice-versa.

each to their own. :)

the 2 tracks below are light years apart from the new era, though. it's a fact and plain to see/hear.

they (the different eras) might involve similar sounds but there's sooooo much difference in structure, content, and emotion.

less is not always more, imo. ;)

exactly.

But Ive have enough of this "original line up was better" shite.

actually, i don't think people think like this at all, at least here at watmm.

appart from sirch, who seems to be a little stubborn (you know it's right mate ) when it comes to early/current black dog comparisons, i think it's pretty clear their past and present relevance and quality in the electronic music scene.

but we should keep in mind not to even try comparing early and present black dog's music.

you got to agree with me mate.

Psil Cosyin is one of my favourites from spanners...

I love this too...

shit, so good!

makes me sad to think it's the only release by Balil (appart from ART 1 EP)

Very true... but, don't forget those two tracks on ART 2.1 & ART 2.2.

Flux (D Mix), from Black Dog Productions EP has kick ass acid through the end.

don't bother searching youtube, some guy uploaded the original Flux, named as Flux (D Mix).

lol, stubborn? no. headstrong, maybe. :)

why?

do you like The Beatles? if so, don't you think that some of their stuff and attitude is a bit shit compared to other stuff of theirs?

it's the same thing.

you got to agree with me mate.

i don't.
