i wish i could come up with 10 releases. either i'm old and jaded, or shit just sucks more.

 

Die Antwoord - $0$: i was more excited about this before the hype got to the level it did. by the time the album actually came out i was pretty tapped out on the tracks that were on it. hoping they step it up and continue to be wierd.

Roel Funcken - Vade: this isn't just top 10 for 2010, this is within my top 10 for the decade. simply an amazing amalgam of styles and the sounds and timbres alone provide hours of ear joy. absolutely 10/10.

Holy Fuck - Latin: i dug the direction they went in on this. always been a trans am fan, and this reminds me of trans am, but not necessarily in a derivative way.

The Chap - Well Done Europe: more of the usual art-rock creativity i've come to expect from these guys. their pinnacle for me is still "mega breakfast", but this is also pretty fantastic. seemingly unpretentious for the level of wackiness exhibited.

Bombring - Invasion: Utopia: i don't care if me and my buddy are the only people that listen to this album despite a LOT of time, effort, and money sunk into the project. it was damn fun, it's damn silly, and i'm proud of a lot of moments on the album.
