This is hilarious.

Don't buy this shit. Really. Don't.

Or buy it and make loads of money. I know several people who have had in excess of £20000 profit [in sterling] from buying bulk bitcoins and then selling them for a more inflated price.

srsly, my twitter feed is full of bitcoing stuff. seems like the craze is only now picking up tbh, so might well rise much higher... well, OR NOT.

but I think if I had 1000 disposable moneys I'd probably buy that shit now and see how it looks next month...

though the better way would be to set up a bot which is tuned to actually take advantage of the volatility...

ok guyse.

I am offering to trade my Elektron Machinedrum UW+ (used but good condition, bought new in Jan. 2012, has 1 year of warranty left) for 1 bitcoin.

includes shipping within Germany, have to see about prices in other countries. Personal shake-hands exchange would be preferrable, and easiest in southern Germany at the mo.

I have no intention to join the crazed hysteria.

Sell your Machinedrum on eBay and then buy during the next crash. IMO

^ nice.. be careful.. I ended up getting ripped off by the guy I bought it from (the purchase I posted about on here last week). I only spent $100, but still, pretty shitty. I think he reversed the payment, cuz my BlockChain wallet says "Final Balance: $0." It had $90 a days before.

He can't reverse the payment. Why is it in a blockchain wallet? Did you transfer it from localbitcoins to your blockchain wallet? There is no possibility that the guy who sold you the BTC could have taken it back like that! Your transaction history in blockchain will show you what's up.

Let me know, we'll find your btc! Unless someone hacked into your block chain in which case: WTF! But let's have a gander, it is very unlikely. Post screenshots of your blockchain send and receive address pages etc.

btw i can't get your btc unless you tell me your blockchain login, so don't do that, not that i want to rob you, wattmer!

Hey Fenton,

thanks so much for your offer to help find the missing btc.. that would be awesome (:

Here is my blockchain address:

https://blockchain.info/address/1NVR7CTYkUoiz9GdAy19CuesF28pYNW82S?filter=2

I signed up on localbitcoins.com, so i guess im using the wallet that comes with it.. I don't know, I haven't moved anything around or done anything since I bought the BTC from that guy. It had the money showing up in "Final Balance" for days after, so I don't know what happened. He suggests that I was hacked. Because he even "test" sent me a few cents after, and that went away too, so he said it looks like my wallet has been compromised...

If you could see anything or find anything on your end, that would be awesome. Just lmk.

Thanks man!

wouldn't that kinda defeat the purpose of The Coin? if this turns out how i hope it will, the current lo-hi thing won't matter that much. say, if BTC value doubles by February I could get another MDUW+ plus something else lol. If not, I may just wait till i get bored. Let's say it's more likely that BTC value rises than the MD's value does :D

Did the guy from localbitcoins.com pay you to your blockchain wallet? Not your localbitcoins.com wallet?

OK. Yeh it definitely looks like there are some transactions out of your wallet. Your password would have been over 10 digits long though, how likely is it that someone hacked your blockchain? Unless they are spying on your computer somehow, how likely is that?

Are you sure you didn't do anything else with them?

"I signed up on localbitcoins.com, so i guess im using the wallet that comes with it.. "

This is the sentence that throws me. Transactions on localbitcoins go into your localbitcoins wallet. They go into an escrow thing for a bit, then release into your localbitcoins.com wallet.

If you did the transaction out of localbitcoins.com then what is that sentence on about?

So what I meant was that I signed up on LocalBitCoins.com, created a login, and found a seller to contact in person, which I met him in person and bought $100 worth of bitcoin from him in cash. All I did was give him my Blockchain address. He transferred the money into there, -- multiple transactions, because the first one didn't go through, and then he gave me a "bonus" cuz it was taking too long. Finally, later that night I received enough confirmations, and the amount reflected in my Final Balance via blockchain. The whole time, Ive done nothing on LocalBitCoins.com- except initially creating an account- just been checking the blockchain. a few days later, the Final Balance said 0, which is where it is now.

The interesting part is that I bought from him during a time that LocalBitCoins was sort of down (the escrow wasnt active or something, so i had to just trust that he wouldnt reverse the amount). Maybe I shouldnt have trusted him? He never had access to my computer, password, or anything.. although he did use his camera phone to take a picture of my iphone displaying my blockchain page with all of the transaction info....?

oh and for the record, my PW is a few less than 10 digits on localbitcoins.com.. but it uses different cases, and numbers and letters.. maybe that was still dumb?

Hmm, weird i just checked my localbitcoins.com wallet, and it's confirmed that it has my bitcoins in there. It says:

Wallet: 0.27439750

and Spendable Balance: 0.27439750

which is the correct amount.. but blockchain.info says 0..

any idea what's going on?

Your localbitcoins wallet and your blockchain wallet are different wallets.

You can send the coins from your localbitcoins.com to anywhere you like, maybe set up a new blockchain wallet and send them to that.

Honestly it all sounds a bit confusing, tho, wtf?

Ahh ok, very cool.. good to know, thanks Fenton!

I guess I'll set up a new blockchain wallet, since that other one got messed up or something. yeah, it is a confusing realm indeed lol
