I'm not too impressed by anything I've heard so far. But it does have the atmosphere of ISIS, and the vocals of Chino. I don't know what I was expecting. I guess I always liked ISIS to an extent but never loved them. I'll check out the album but both songs I've heard I'm not really inspired to listen to the whole thing, just sampling through is enough.

sounds pretty good. not mindblowing, but solid. the drums are strong.

I've not listened to Red Sparrowes much before .. is this a worth while endeavour? I listened to the new Zozobra that Aaron Harris produced - sounds good so i have high hopes for the production on this new one ...

the second Red Sparowes album, Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun is a masterpiece in my opinion. i can't think of a better intstrumental rock record. it's heavy and melodic and emotional and interesting even after many listens. their other albums aren't as good, but are worth checking out.

its hilariously how it sounds like you'd think it'd sound - just Isis + chino

Sort'a like Deftones - I need an album to listen straight through in order to get into the feeling of the album - one off tracks need accompanying tracks before and after

looking forward tho

exactly my opinion so far. i'm certainly looking forward to seeing how cohesive the album turns out to be. judging from the "patagonia" track and the (albeit unmastered) "tropics" track floating around, there seems to be a little lacking on the bottom end heaviness that i would prefer. i do like the songs a good bit but i hope it packs a little more punch than what i've heard to date.

^thanks! enjoying now

I really do not want this to be an alternative metal version of Audioslave. Now I can't listen to either RATM or Soundgarden.

Its like that girl next door who shoots a dirty porn movie then pretends to be that sweet girl again. Even though she is dressed like the nice girl, and acting like the nice girl, you still have those dirty dirty memories.

I really like Isis and Deftones - I do not want this to be ruined.

lol, come on though, ratm's self titled debut? nothing should impede enjoyment of that.

Picked this up on Friday, just getting to giving it a full listen now, it definitely sounds abou what you'd expect (Isis + Chino) but I'm about midway through track 2 and finding that's really not a bad thing at all.

Also noticing the title of track 3 "Mission Sunset", Chino has mentioned in intervies that Bohren & Der Club of Gore's album "Sunset Mission" is one of his favorite albums ever, the title seems to be a nod to that.

Have people who have had a proper listen to this album being enjoying it? I sometimes wish they didnt put album streams up as daft as that sounds, I was all for getting this then a listen through the stream left me a bit.. meh, but have a feeling it may be a grower so should prob get it and give it a proper listen, i mean I love Isis and I Love Chino so what can go wrong?

why not? you don't think the world is ready for a big time nu-metal revival?

oh my god why did you include Bungle in your apparent definition of nu-metal

that's unconscionable

Enjoying this so far. Not quite what I expected, but that's not a bad thing. The first 30 seconds of the album tripped me out, it sounds like a slow pop song. The production is a little odd, but it's not too big of a deal. There's some great moments though; I'm thinking this will only get better over time.
