Two Fingers - Stunt Rhythms

The virtuosic beatsmith teams up with Joe ‘Doubleclick’ Chapman for another Two Fingers album.

When Amon Tobin told FACT about his Two Fingers project, he described it as “strictly beat-driven bass music.” He wasn’t wrong: Two Fingers re-imagines hip-hop with the block-rocking low-end of UK electronic music.

Stunt Rhythms promises plenty of thunderous bass and sawtooth lasers in the style of the duo’s ‘Fools Rhythm,’ found on Ninja Tune 20th anniversary boxset. The follow-up to Two Fingers’ 2009 self-titled album, Stunt Rhythms is out on October 1 via Big Dada. In the meantime, download the relentless ’101 South’ now.

101 South is pretty groovy, looking forward to checking the rest of this. I hope they kinda shy away from using vocals on most tracks. I kinda liked the instrumentals of the first album better.

Preorders and previews of the every track here.

Lol at people (not here obviously) that complain Amon Tobin has lost his touch. Everyone knows his older shit is dope, but Two Fingers is like the underground Amon Tobin still bangin' away hard as hell. Stuff is so dope. The last album of instrumentals was killer, as was all the stuff with Ms. Jade. I could do without Sway DaSafo's vocals on this one though. I'll be buying this one for sure.

Came home to find the vinyl waiting for me tonight... nice one ninjatune, especially as it's not officially out for a few weeks.

It's sounding pretty damn solid, production is amazing as you'd expect! 1st two plates are fully instrumental dancefloor stuff, occasionally strays into stadium dubstep wub-wub-wub style but there's some really good electro beats in there too. Last record is the vocal stuff.

All on rather lovely sky blue heavweight vinyl too. Only one listen in so far, but this is more my sort of thing than ISAM I reckon.

This 101 South song has me very hopeful for this album. I didn't hate ISAM but it certainly didn't sound like the dude's Ninja Tune classics.

You've gotta love http://ninjatune.net/shop. £12 shipped for 3 x LP (VIP saving), a few days before the official release date. The first two discs are very nice, carrying on from the 20th Anniversary Box Set opener, vocal stuff on the 3 disc is not really my thing.

fuck yeah, couldn't agree more.

I know Tobin is past his drum'n'bass jazzy type phase but listening to this makes me kinda wish he'd try making dnb like some of the trax in this mix.

wait... are the trax on this mix all by two fingers? Sorry I keep thinking this album will be like the first one?

Ah cool cool, thanks for the info. I was going to go to the ISAM show in november but I can't afford it now

Yeah I know he hasn't made dnb like that, I meant that I would like to see him try it. I think he would make some dope dnb in that type of style =P

It seems this keeps getting pushed back?? I know the vinyl has been out for awhile (sold during his ISAM shows), but the other versions originally said Oct 2, then I saw it got pushed back to the 8th... now Amazon says Oct. 16. :(

My problem with this album is that it's all over the map. No consistency or flow. it goes from hip-hop to bro-step to electro to skweee and everything in between. I love some tracks, hate others, it's just all around a really frustrating listen.
