Poimandres Posted November 28, 2012 Share Posted November 28, 2012 As we all know, IDM isn't what it used to be. Sometime after the turn of the century the popularity of the genre died in the arse. But for a few years there it was really blossoming in terms of quality and quantity of music being released. In this rush, it was easy to miss some great releases. Everyone (well, everyone here!) knows about the big names. Hell, most here probably even know about highly celebrated but lesser known artists like Bola, Arovane, Gridlock, Brothomstates etc. But I'm sure there's plenty of great music in this vein that was missed. Let's share some lesser known tracks/artists that deserve more recognition: E.O.G from the Netherlands released a handful of EPs and compilation tracks. But he released an absolutely killer album of dark crunchy bassy electronica in the late 90's. Released: something "vol.1" and "vol.2" maybe a year after that. I really loved all of this. I listened to Funkstörung a lot during high school. They're without a doubt my favorite German artists. They've even done collabs with Björk and Wu Tang Clan in 1999.
