Aren't there cases where this type of speech is considered a criminal act? When you're in a position of power/influence etc isn't this inciting violence or something along those lines?

@Hugh Mughnus From what little I was able to stomach reading, it looked like a series of vagaries rather than an actual statement like "Go and behead Dr. Fauci."

he said trump should start his 2nd term and as a warning put people's heads on pikes starting with dr. fauci.

Reminds me of that country song that goes: "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free".... "to put people's heads on spikes if they aren't conservative"

Intentionally just vague enough for it to not be an "actual suggestion".

Thought this was a good live analysis of the way Tucker Carlson speaks to the MAGA audience.

tldr; they're in a cult.

For posterity.

The victory won't feel as good as it should, because the race shouldn't have been anywhere near this close. I'll still be relieved, but I'm not sure for how long.

The race isn't going to be close by the end, it just looked that way because it was counted slow because of the mail ballots. He's going to win the popular vote by ~5m votes. 300ish EC votes, if he wins AZ it'll be more than Trump won, and all this against an incumbent, who have only been beaten 3 times previously IIRC.

If Pennsylvania mail ballots were processed first, as they were in Ohio, then the election would have been called for Biden on the night of the election.

For me It's because Biden is just bland. Only happiness I felt was relief that Trump is done.. for at least 4 years.

4 years is long enough to get my will written.

Well at least Biden won't get rid of the EPA/Obamacare. I think he will be a perfectly average president who doesn't cause people who read the news to have an anxiety attack 3 times a week.

Hopefully over the next 2 years Biden does a good job of explaining how the senate is stopping him from doing x, y, or z. Because if he does not people may think he will be a president that doesn't want to accomplish anything, which would lead directly into a 2024 Trump 2.0 win.

No, I really don't have many problems with Biden other than his age guaranteeing him one term, which isn't good for the long run as it looks now. I know a moderate candidate would have to be running against Trump to thread the needle. You'll notice even more minorities voted for Trump this time, The Squad's racial/socialism rhetoric actually turns a lot of people off and doesn't work well outside social media. The GOP keeping control of the senate but getting rid of Trump is their dream scenario right now. How do you think this would have turned out if Bernie was on the ballot?

That's still on the cards, both Georgia seats look set to be going to a runoff election in January, those two plus Mark Kelly (who looks set to win in Arizona) would leave it 50-50, with Harris as the tie-breaker.

Compared to Trump I don't have issues with Biden. I just predict that he won't be a particularly good president. I don't think he will get much done in the first two years except fixing some of the shit Trump has done. But I don't think his legacy will be anything to write home over even if he gets 8 years. He will probably be known as a centrist corporate democrat who was in the right place at the right time... and wasn't a fascist so he got elected.

I Think if Hillary ran this year she would probably have beaten Trump. Maybe it would be a little closer race, but because Trump has been such a dirtbag the past 4 years, 89% of registered voters voted to kick him out.

Btw if Biden wants to prove me wrong and and become the best democratic president ever then good. But I just don't expect much from a slightly more conservative version Obama.

Lol, hold on let me get in my time machine and go create a parallel universe to find that out. Dude I have no clue. I think it would have been about equal with Biden if I had to guess, with somewhat different demographics sure, but I think both would have beaten Trump handily. The only people who would have an accurate guess on the subject are people who sat down and took everything into consideration since Biden and Bernie attracted different crowds. Trying to hazard a guess based off of thinking he wouldn't attract people in state X because he is too liberal, is a useless exercise since there are so many different avenues to win an election.

I think this election was Trump v Not Trump. I don't see anybody talking about all the great policies Biden wants to implement. they're just talking about wanting Trump to disappear.
