v underrated album. I don't really like Air that much at all and their music after talkie walkie has been p dire, but somehow this one to me seems very good and not taking itself too seriously.

this thread sucks sorry folks

i disagree. thats why i made this thread. it's simultaneously more serious in terms of composition and production and goofier in its lyrics and tone that the previous albums. which turned a lot of chin-stroking pitchfork review-writing idiots off clearly because they can only understand humor music if it's laughing at wesley willis or if kanye said the word croissant (this is racist)

The early singles compiled on Premiers Symptômes were their peak IMO.

But Moon Safari and The Virgin Suicides are easily better than 10 000 Hz Legend.

i kind of agree with this.  10,000 Hz Legend was way too cheesy for my ears.

i do like "people in the city" a lot, though.

I still remember the review in Future Music magazine smugly docking it marks because of the poor mixing quality of Radio #1 where the music dips whenever there guy sings 'Radio #1' towards the end of the track, completely missing the point of pretending to be a radio DJ talking over the end of the track.

Gotta check this one out again. The first and last tracks (Electronic Performers & Caramel Prisoner) are mindbendingly lush. Don't Be Light always grated on me though. Also the remix counterpart LP to this was pretty dire as I recall and kinda negatively coloured the LP proper in my perception, which is really dumb on my part.

Overall this is about as out there as AIR have gone thus far. I'm more of a Talkie Walkie/Premiers Symptomes guy though.

Well,I agree that it's underrated. It's my favourite release of theirs, although I felt it hadn't aged as well as I'd hoped for upon my last listen.

Funnily enough I listened to some tracks off that album pretty recently. Wonder Milky Bitch is an awesome track, the strings arrangements are beautiful !

Air isn't a band I listen to on a regular basis and when I do I tend to listen to separate tracks rather than full albums... 10000Hz maybe was an exception to that rule ! (along with the Virgin Suicides of course)

Not given Air a seconds thought for years, but just put Premieres Symptomes and 10,000Hz on. Thanks for reminder innit. Great albumz and I think those two've largely held up

That track is basically this entire compilation genre summed up in one piece

Lol takes me back, I'd buy shit like that by the crate from Cash Converters when I was about 14

Moon Safari: Modern Classic. A Perfect sunday chill out album.

10 000 Htz legend: A mediocre attempt to make an experimental electronic album. First half has some good tracks. Everything after Lucky and Unhappy is pretty much crap.
