Loved being a part of all three Day For Night Festivals. Got to meet some really lovely people from here at the last festival like @omnii, @xxx, @WhitleyStriber, and kattin. It was that Aphex show that spurred me on to finally sign up for an account here...and I had been lurking since the early 00s. I also remember some random dude who was wearing at Aphex Twin SAWII ball cap (!), who had no cash for the vinyl, so I bought him one for the hell of it. DFN seemed to be such a well run, state of the art AV festival. Was so proud to have it in Houston when I was living there. Was a shame that it had to be shut down because of the founder getting himself in trouble for harassment. Probably won’t ever get to see so many artists I love so close to home ever again.

Then Chad Kroeger as John Lennon.

Yeah I’ve seen that. Still, it’s cool they got spotlighted. To me, they are IDM legends.

Just found out about this guy last week. Instantly risen to my top AOTYs.

Not sure if he is a WATMMer or what his background is, but I was really moved by this pair of complimentary albums. The first track on End Times grabbed my attention with the rave/drum n bass vibes, but digging in further I can see that the influences on these works run deep. I can hear glimpses of early Seefeel/Mark Van Hoen, as well as shades of Broadcast, and even Tor Lundvall's vocal works on top of the obvious IDM influences. Two very unique albums that pair together very well - a new highlight of 2020 for me. Well worth your time.

I also moved this year...and it was not easy. But we got through it and still all here in one piece. Hang in there, bud.

Afterimage is definitely the better album of the two. I hear what you are saying about the similarities between the tracks - but the same thing could be said for many electro artists. Anyway - props for giving an extra listen.

Well I feel you and generally feel this way as well. It’s just annoying as a fan who does not want to dust off a record player not to hear this music. The shame of it is that it is an excellent album, so I still listen to my rip regularly, rather than lossless files I should have got for shelling out for this 2LP.
