Autechre - Oversteps (WARP210) [The MegaThread]

Tonight's Autechre is tooo easy. I swear...i had that main theme from see on see in my head few years ago. It's so obvious and banal that everybody could make it but Ae was the first ones that published it.

Okay, this is straight LP5 melodies with semi drunk Draft beats. I can get into this. should be 3 times as long

Not super complicated, but nice. I hope there are at least a couple more bangers on this album. So far, if you compare these two tracks to their other releases... LP5> to < Draft, these are kind of inferior. I will respect them enough to say that the album as a whole will probably contextualize them, though.

Fuck. This better leak this week now.

I'm doing a good re-recording of see on see without the guy's voice in it, nor any trace of it. I'll put it up here when I'm done.

Did anyone get the full "ilanders" track? That'd be fantastic if so, if not, oh well, haha... >_<

lol, I guess they weren't done with playing around with the twangy twinkly stuff at the beginning of simmm.

Props to them for being brave enough to try making melodies again, though.

It seems they are finally ready to do a sci fi movie soundtrack. Less original sounding to my ears, but more soundtrack-y.

Xyrofen, yeah, I'm waiting til the show's over cos I don't wanna miss anything.

It's only 19:26 here so I'm not sleepy yet :)

Alright, thanks.

So far, I'm really psyched for this. see on see sounds wonderfully ambient with a lot of nice reverb effects on it and the melody is great. I have yet to listen to the sample of ilanders.

Re: someone mentioned not finished exploring the first part of Simm (and thereby Fermium?) I totally agree. See on See exemplifies that

Re: someone mentioned Oversteps = Lp5.1 (Lp6?). Again, I totally agree, given Ilanders.

I'm content, though I am treading carefully with their ambient stuff.. to the untrained AE ear, it sounds VERY new agey.
