Yeah I'm really curious as to how they've chosen to distribute these mp3s and if they've placed any watermarks on them. I just read this TechCrunch article on how watermarks can be placed into the actual mp3 file itself, but a) the article is 3 years old and has probably been circumvented by people that want to get around it and b) such watermarks could just be erased through simple re-encoding, although there'd be a loss of quality. according to this company that specialises in audio watermarking, that might not be the case.

 

I'm beginning to think I'm more interested in how the mp3 watermarks have been implemented rather than getting feedback about a new Autechre album. This is not a good sign
