I don't know how accurate this is, but I think of him as the man who saved "Ghostbusters" from being a complete and total train-wreck. It sounded to me like he's the one who made the plot as interesting as it is (disgraced academics turning to the private sector with their research technologies). Caddyshack and Animal House will always be more funny & clever than all the imitators they spawned combined. Here in the states the Biography channel recently (maybe a couple of years ago) made documentaries on the making of each, both of which are longer than the films themselves. I was talking about that film just yesterday (saw a car packed near the exit of an empty car park and instantly thought of Vacation(which is actually my favourite comedy film (sorry ghostbusters!))). But then,, it's not too spooky, seeing as I reference or talk about national lampoons vacation nearly every second day. The dude has been involved with some pretty spectacular films and comedy moments. Sad to see him go. Will definitely make the Ghostbusters videogame the next console game I play after dead space.
