plunging into total darkness is pretty much the only thing that can bring the U.S together these days

ironic I know... if only more of these events happened lol

in the "it'd be nice" category - it'd be nice if celestial occurrences like this would make people think more on the fact that we humans are all just evolved animals living together on this big rock floating through space. religion / cultures / politics - all of it is moot in the long term, since the flow of the universe dictates the wave we're all riding known as reality...but yeah, now this eclipse thingy is moving out of the news cycle, the collective we in this country can all get back to disagreeing over man-made bullshit systems that were invented a long time ago in order to keep the peasants from revolting against the few who think they are actually in control of the way things are.

turns out they prayed to god without asking for big T's permission:

ATLANTA (AP) — Donald Trump said Wednesday that an Arizona law that criminalizes nearly all abortions goes too far and called on Arizona lawmakers to change it, while also defending the overturning of Roe v. Wade that cleared states to ban the procedure.

“It’ll be straightened out and as you know, it’s all about states’ rights,” the former president told supporters and journalists after landing in Atlanta for a fundraiser. “It’ll be straightened out, and I’m sure that the governor and everybody else are going to bring it back into reason and that’ll be taken care of, I think, very quickly.”

DARE was a massive amount of bullshit in the USA. it's the successor to "Officer Friendly" which is when we were between ages 5-10 an officer would come to our class and tell us all about how bad drugs are and say shit like "Smoking 1 joint is like smoking a whole pack of cigarettes" and other hits like "Marijuana leads direction to heroin".. "you'll do PCP think you can fly and jump off a roof and die"
