Case closed. when we discover a new island do we immediately annihilate all of its life, down to the bacteria? he's assuming we even register as not only something pathetic and worthless enough to exterminate, but valuable enough to not leave alone, which is contradictory furthermore, since it seems that sufficiently intelligent life eventually develops philosophy and ethics, it seems unlikely that all alien species will be a death cult. how likely is it for mass intelligence to emerge in non-empathetic species which therefore don't even cooperate?
