YangYing Posted May 27, 2018 Author Share Posted May 27, 2018 complete hysteria. there's never been a better time for free speech in the western world. the fact that complete garbage like breitbart is profitable proves this. them and their readers love to play the slippery slope card every chance they get though, based on the most hilariously trivial examples. from what i've seen, people complaining about "muh free speech" are really just upsetti that they can't say dumbass racist, sexist jokes and comments without criticism. overwhelmingly, no one is stifling your free speech. they are exercising theirs. but people are such fucking babies that they mistake this for being 'silenced' and try to make it about larger issues instead of taking responsibility for their words and actions. i completely agree with you.. but how do we deal with the (apparently) growing mass of people falling prey to that narrative? my hope is that its just that, apparent, but after brexit n shit iunno man.. is spooky times edit: it is certainly the case that the alt-right is exploding this and other events out of proportion to catch people.. but all of the fault shouldn't be layed at their feet imo.
