Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Recommended Posts

I saw a politico article today saying that Biden admin executive branch (probably Secretary of State and members of national security council, the article did not name names) have been quietly advising Israel to go ahead with attacking/invading Lebanon these past few weeks. Also saw a axios article saying that second round of ballistic middles from Iran today are on their way toward Israel.

I cannot see any information at all about who in America is making the decisions about this stuff. I doubt Biden even knows what is happening, much less does he have any power or wherewithal to stop it. Loads of US military assets and lots of personnel now in that area, mobilized there these last few weeks. Very concerning to me. We are sleepwalking into a broad conflict that has no strategic aims or value, no discernible intent except more war, it is like they are just improvising and doing so poorly. What a disaster.

Israel's Iron Dome is not taking out the Iranian missiles. This is going to turn so so bad.

we've been here before but shit is outta hand. israel should've been reigned in so long ago but election year makes everyone scared to do stuff because aipac.. etc..  and i guess it's USA policy to let israel do whatever it wants. fucking rogue state at this point.

If one of their missile hits a populated area in Saudi Arabia, as they are firing into Yemen, the shit might really hit the fan.

^wouldnt put it past Netanyahu & his supporters to have allowed the iron dome to have ‘failed’ for some missles, just so they can use that as more martyrdom excuse.

not saying that’s what happened at all, just at this point, it’s clear the Netanyahu regime is not against allowing Israeli casualties if it serves their greater purpose.

yeesh. more than one person/group saying that the death toll is more likely around 250,000 in gaza. expected to be around 300,000 by end of year. the city is flattened so i'm guessing those buildings are all graves. but the reports of officially burying 8000 people in one day are shocking.

French president Macron is calling to halt weapons shipments to Israel: https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2024/10/05/macron-urges-halt-to-arms-deliveries-to-israel-for-use-in-gaza_6728282_4.html#

Quote

French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, October 5, urged a halt to arms deliveries to Israel, which has been criticized over the conduct of its retaliatory operation in Gaza.

"I think that today, the priority is that we return to a political solution, that we stop delivering weapons to fight in Gaza," Macron told broadcaster France Inter. "France is not delivering any," he added during the interview recorded early this week.

I also saw a report that defense minister in israel Noav Gallant said that 8 idf soldiers were killed in a battle in Lebanon this weekend. I have been trying to follow news reporting on the lebanon invasion and bombing campaigns but there is very little detail in the news reports I have been coming across. Some people are saying that if the idf was doing well there, that we would be hearing all about it, so the silence from mainstream journalism might mean that they are not doing too well there. I remember reading that hezbollah had approximately 40,000 fighters in Lebanon, which is like double the size of hamas at the outset of this war, and also that hezbollah has more sophisticated weaponry than hamas.

advertisement that I have heard was put together by Turkish government about middle east conflict. Strikes me as kind of odd considering I have also heard that Erdoğan and Turkish government (a NATO ally with united states) has been exporting oil to israel throughout the entire conflict, although I am not certain about the truth or extent of that. Maybe erdogan is following the nietzsche advice about exploiting bad accidents to his advantage, since he wants turkey to eventually become the leading country of the middle east

Watched a bit of Channel 4 (pretty decent mainstream uk news) news last night. I just sat there, in shock with my jaw open, astonished. The ol' Israelis really do have bloodlust don't they. In a strange way, it's also confirmed what I knew years and years ago, as the modern day Israel continuously whined and cried about the holocaust and how hard done by they were and how could anyone DARE criticise them. I knew they were engineering a mechanism so they could carry on being the massive bunch of hypocritical cunts they are. Now the gloves are off aren't they. Their true colours firmly on display.

But get this! They still haven't quit! On LBC the other day their was an Israelie ambassador complaining and whining that the UN (who's peacekeepers they are attacking) were anti-Semitic. And life just wasn't fair. I kid you not. These fuckers need to put to rights. Who are they gonna start killing next? It doesn't help there's a dithering fucking old man as US President. Which I'm sure those cunning, crafty Israelis are taking full advantage of.

And fucking Hamas probably hiding like cowardly rats behind nurses and children can also fucking die. Seriously this whole thing is FUCKED!!!

yeah man, absolutely is. the whole 2 state solution thing is nothing more than pie in the sky wishful thinking. can't see that being a long term solution to this fight, since both groups want the same slice of land. sadly it seems this is going to keep getting worse for all inhabitants in that region. just horrific. leaves you with such a feeling of hopelessness, as there's really nothing any of us normal working class citizens can do about it.

shit is definitely unhinged. imagine if vietnam war happened today with social media spitting out the daily atrocities and napalm agent orange dumps on civilians etc. not to mention dead american GIs in the news every day. i forget the number of people killed by american bombs in that one.. but i think it's a couple million. makes israel seem like business as usual "we learned by watching you" type shit from israel.

fuckn hell.

edit: NSFL as if on command new atrocities.

Spoiler

According to preliminary Israeli media reports, Sinwar, along with two other Hamas fighters, was killed on Wednesday in the southern Gaza city of Rafah when Israel Defense Forces (IDF) opened fire on a building where the three were holed up. The troops then ordered an airstrike against the building, collapsing it. When IDF troops entered what was left of the building on Thursday, they noticed that one of the killed Hamas members looked like Sinwar.

IDF accidentally kills Hamas leader. the tactic of 'kill everyone in Gaza' seems to have, through zero skill or strategic know-how, landed them on their 'target' after only....idk, i've lost track of the horrors, what is it now, are we at 45k dead Palestinians?

could be a turning point, maybe? probably not but hoping for the best is about all that can be done at this point.

nothing will change. congrats, you killed tens of thousands of innocent people to get the top Hamas guy. the circumstances that created and supported Hamas have not changed, have in fact been further entrenched, so someone else will just step in. you've done little to make Hamas a nonviable entity.

the only thing that could put a pause on the killing and force the parties back to the negotiating table is if a greater power makes that happen, and that's not likely when that power is in the pocket of one of those parties. I say again, at least half the responsibility for this mass murder is on the US because of its - not even silent - but open endorsement.
