  1. One thing I'm glad they lost when they moved from 2d to 3d (and why I've not revisited them): Lives (and quite limited amount if I remember correctly I could be wrong but I remember the PC demo was timer-based rather than lives-based and that definitely encouraged more freedom for exploration and mayhem than the retail version (by the time I was on the final mission of each island I was driving so carefully so I didn't have to replay everything again!)
  2. Not yet. I keep meaning to and unfortunately I've spoiled a big chunk of it by watching someone's blind play-through - everything until the 'friendly dog, big dog & block of flats' section (description left deliberately vague to not spoil for anyone else but those that have played it will know what I mean !). Might download & save it for my visit back to family over Christmas as I'lll be without the internet for about a week or so.
  3. Worked through Sunlust with Brutal Doom and I nearly gave up many many times (especially the last level) - Think this would kill me
  4. The opener definitely sounds like it could've been a proto-Lifeforms track
  5. Ditto ! I've also got LameVST ( https://www.kvraudio.com/product/lamevst-by-r-tur ) but I think this will now replace that
  6. Sounds like the B side to this (But played at 45 rather than 33) - https://www.discogs.com/release/25095-Tortoise-The-Taut-And-Tame i.e.
  7. Best and easiest would be Isotope RX 10: Simply load the track, click 'music rebalance', set Vocal volume to -infinity, set quality to Best and hit Render. Done ! Best and easiest, but also possibly most expensive of all the options! (though currently half price at most places)
  8. Grab the picture disc for the lols but use the bundled flac for the nulls
  9. Nice - discogs mentions Andy was '91-'94 era Orb so definitely covers a good Orb period
  10. I really miss it, can't remember the last time I heard a new track and thought 'oh my gosh that's from [insert TV or film or classic track]'
  11. Definitely intrigued to know who could get away with wearing that without looking like a complete penis ...
  12. Was he maybe referring to this collection (though this was back in 2018):
  13. Conversely I thought the piano absolutely enriched the ambient drones. Reminded me of the Fennesz/Sakamoto collabs
  14. Absolutely on the same page - Like a track AI would create if fed with previous Clark tracks. Fine enough track but even though it was the first time I'd heard it, it felt like I had already listened to that track dozens of times before !
  15. Wait is this why the Air that I thought this was is sometimes referred to as 'Air (French Band)' ?
  16. Perhaps more charitably you could say they're the Peter Molyneux of musicians: Riding the hype of 80s and 90s classics and nowadays promising so much, but delivering hot air...
  17. I have never *ever* been able to play an FPS with a joypad. The only time I found it even remotely possible was playing a very slow sniper in Goldeneye back in the day !
  18. Last purchase was an Album in FLAC format on Wednesday or Thursday but didn't notice any speed decrease
  19. It's like he's somehow unlearning how to make music with every album. I couldn't even finish the thing due to the horrendous trappiness ploughing through the tracks.
  20. Don't worry - I run the fsolboard and I'm not 100% sure ... is it maybe the Environmental bit of A:E:V ? https://www.discogs.com/release/10173556-The-Future-Sound-Of-London-Archived-Environmental-Views
  21. love love love to see this mentioned by Rob. Always thought it strange that it doesn't get ridiculed more often I think we’ve also come from this kind of approach where we’re not Danny Rampling waving vinyl around, or suffering from that sort of visibly loud ‘hot encoder/hot fader’ syndrome. We’re just really so past, beyond that, we were always too self aware to actually let ourselves get away with that.
  22. s'alright - not quite up to Juanita levels but s'alright . 25 squid for a 12'' single (+p&p) can jolly well do one mind !
  23. Absolutely, a site with around 30 million monthly hits and daily multi-terabyte traffic shouldn't need any more than a person (two tops) - Any more than that is just being wasteful
