Analogical Force UNSEEN SERIES I

Recommended Posts

Analogical Force and Furthur Electronix have teamed up to release a new anonymous series to make you think "who is this? is this someone i am familiar with trying to sound like Aphex or is it someone i'm not familiar with trying to sound like Aphex?"
If you are put off by the quality of the first 2 tracks, check out the 3rd!

Ooh nice. Is Dollarstore Keyboard involved? ?

Have you listened to the previews? Does it sound like Dollarstore Keyboard or does it sound like a weak impersonation of Aphex?

samples really quite underwhelming tbh

That's putting it nicely. First 2 are actually cringeworthy.

not sure i see the reasoning for kicking off a whole anonymous series with this lacklustre business. weird.

analogical force hasn't really been doing it for me lately. they should focus on making a dwaallicht full length materialize.

But

As almost everybody in braindance is already unknown

Does this makes it...

the uber-unknown?

Thanks to labels like Anilogical Force they will stay unknown too ❤️

I know you're joking, but this is exactly what's wrong with braindance/IDM these days. I'm pretty sick of hearing people try their hand at sounding like AFX or Squarepusher. Or the artists that have some breaks and a 303 and send it through the modern equivalent of dBlue Glitch.

Didn't AF guy and FE dude have a big gay internet fight a little while back about who had the best braindance label?

Only fitting that they collaborate to bring us this toilet music release

I'm probably guilty of it myself but at least i don't lazily try to pass it off as the real thing like Brainwaltzera etc ?

This might be my mistake. I think i mixed up UNSEEN and WITHOLD because this is literally a carbon copy of what Furthur Electronix was doing with their own 'anonymous braindance series', except the music was decent on WITHOLD.
I can't believe they even went all caps on the name, pretty blatant stuff.

If that's the case and this is not even  a makeup-sex/collab and AF dude thinks this release is a good way to flog a dead horse on the basis that some idiots might think it's an Afx release then that really displays a certain level of contempt for his loyal label fanbase

Yeah, it's pretty much just sad. The imitated has become the imitator.

Also, if AF guy reasons that the tracks sound like plausible secret AFX tracks (what other reason could you have for such a weak gimmick?) then how can you even trust this guy to run any kind of label with ears like that?

Well, in his defense he has put out tunes by Dwaalict, dgohn, and Morphology, etc so he is doing ok.

I do agree that it’d be nice if people stopped flogging the unknown braindance horse. The genre has become very stale with very few exceptions.
