ventolin eps

I'm mushroom, and I'm a complete failure.

"Hi mushroom."

My failuredom has lasted probably ever since I first discovered Aphex Twin. However, I've only realized it in this exact moment by, after years of listening to electronic music, just now discovering that there is indeed a first Ventolin EP that I never knew of (you know, the one that's not "The Remixes").

"What the hell, man? You thought it was just Wheeze through Asthma Beats? You thought that was it?"

I know, I know! I thought it was weird that so many in this topic were so highly praising such a run-of-the-mill offering of tracks, but...

"Get out, seriously, we don't even want you. I'll give you fifty cents to just get the fuck out right now, man. Jesus shit, he didn't know that there were two Vent--...did you hear me, fucker? Get out!"

*tomatoes are thrown*

I just bought the whole thing on bleep, gave it a skim-through but will listen to it proper once my parents are out of the house

The Singles Collection tracks are edited down from their originals.

i think ur mistaken, teh only differences i could find r teh laugh track is coupled w/ a diff ventolin track and respect list is seperated from teh track its on on teh ventin ep

WTF... you DARE challenge ME????

Only available in Japan and Austrailia, this collection contains all of Richard's singles released on WARP Records up until the Richard D. James Album.

The "51/13" in the title refers to the total run time of the album.

The cd releases for "51/13 Aphex Singles Collection" incorrectly identify tracks #1 and #7 as simply "On" and "73-Yips", respectively. Also, tracks #3 and #9 are misspelled as being "Ventolin (crowsmangegus mix edit)" and "Ventolin (marazavose mix edit)", respectively. The corrections are as appear below.

On the cd releases for "51/13 Aphex Singles Collection", the song entitled "Ventolin (marazanvose mix edit)" is actually an edit of the last 1:07 minutes of "Ventolin (praze-an-beeble mix)" plus the entirety of "Ventolin (marazanvose mix)".

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?

yeah, i'm pretty sure that info came from wikipedia, i added some in that article. i opened the tracks up and compared them in acid pro. nothing is exclusive etc.

No, if you noticed my clever hacking of the quotes tag here, that information came from joyrex.com, not Wonkypedia.

And if you're opening tracks up to compare them in a program, are they from the original CDs, and not some MP3/flac you downloaded somewhere?

Has anyone else ever heard Luke Vibert's "actual mix " of Ventolin ? not the one on the ep ...

?

he did two remixes "the Deep Gong Version" and " The Actual mix" - was never released officially

Probably my favourite aphex twin eps, more like a mini album, I listen to some of these tracks more than I do to alot of tracks off of "Richard D James! lp, i always felt ICBYD and the HAB ep were AFX'S peak period creatively, he's done amazing things since, but nowadays its alot harder to make truly inspirational stuff when you have a herd highjacking your shit and masquerading it as their own. The first ep is slightly better than the second, even though the second one has that wonderful remix by Cylob on it. Ventolin [the coppice mix] is total fruitbat goofy charm and the marazanvose one is pure garage electro dirt funk

I have it.  I pulled it out of some Luke Vibert DJ mix I found a few years ago. It's roughly 7:36 and skews towards a slightly more chilled out version of the Salbutamol mix.

The DJ mix was by "DJ WARP" compiling a bunch of unreleased Vibert jams. The Tracklisting named it Ventolin (Luke Vibert Actual Mix)

That's the one.

ventolin eps were the soundcloud dump of the 95 era when rich's soaring popularity led to an interest in the experimental/unconventional types of tracks. personally i've always had diehard faves on here like praze-an-beeble, crowsmengegus, wheeze and of course probus. i'll never understand how rdj can just completely re-invent a genre of music, take it to its extreme, and then give it a viking funeral in the time it takes to produce one track.

on d-scape mix, fenix funk 5, btoum-roumada, the lush track on bradley's robot. you know what i'm talking about - entire worlds that only exist in one rdj track. this is what made the sc dump a once-in-a-lifetime thing. this is why ventolin has always been amongst his best work.
