i see many people think that you need a looped tape for the echo effect, which is not true. tape echo units have looped tape so you don't have to rewind it when the tape reaches end. maybe people get confused and associate the tape loop with the signal repetition of the echo effect, which is wrong, the repetition is achieved with an AUDIO loop (feedback). the easiest way to make a tape echo is without a tape loop. for instance: take a reel-to-reel or even a cassette deck with 3 heads (erase head, recording head and playback head). that enables you to playback what you're recording - straight from the tape. because the recording head is ~1cm before the playback head t…

So I have decided that i need a scratch turntable as their needles don't well, scratch records up so badly with repeated use. I can't though, just buy a scratch needle as my record player would not accept it>>> So that means, I'm looking at the cheapest options: direct drive, whatever else. i will not use this record player for mixing in the future either as mixing with records doesn't really appeal to me How about this one? : http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Sta...able?sku=804015 the cheaper the better, but not something that will break on me

Linkity GAK! There's no MIDI thru! What if you want to trigger other shit with the pads and still have a keyboard controller? Gay...

hiya ekt peeps. ok, i'm doing a remix of a more traditional track for someone... bass, drums, synth, coupla guitar parts and a coupla vox. now the track was recorded to a click, but is a human performance, and thus, the timing 'breathes' slightly... meaning i can't quite get the tempo to match exactly all of the way through the track. the vocal sounds fine, but the drum track drifts in and out, so i can't get any midi quantised parts to sync perfectly, and it's doing my nut in. question is, do you think i'd be better detecting the hitpoints of the beat, slicing and quantising it to the internal midi clock, or is there a way i can get cubase to map the quant…

Random cunt beeping noise in Cubase?
by Guest The Bro- 15 replies
- 4.2k views
Having bought a pc from Dell (yes shoot me I know). This stupid fuck ass pc is really getting on my goat now. Not only have I managed to buy the only piece of shit on the planet that refuses normal pci soundcards but now the cunt is making random beeping noises in the background with particular song tracks in Cubase and as usual I have no answer for it. I've tried other audio apps to narrow the problem down and it definitely appears to be a Cubase problem. Have even reinstalled Cubase. Am totally baffled and feeling like put an axe to this piece of shit pc. :arrr:

so im after some studio monitors, and while i would love to pay somebody to give me a lift to the place miles away and look at them myslef, i was wondering if people could reccomend like particular decent ones or around 400 to 500 quid, so like 700-900 dollars as far as i can see the only way to differentiate them is the brand and the price tag.

Sup guys? So am getting my Dell taken back and my money refunded after I blew a whole in the manager's earhole muwhaha. So okay am looking in the £400-500 price bracket including vat to get a music making pc. I may even not need a monitor as I can use my old 15" monitor. I plan on getting my own pci soundcard (M-Audio Audiophile 2496). Spec wise I probably need Intel P4 (3ghz), 80gb hd, 1gb ddr2 ram, McAfee antivirus, 4 years hardware guarantee etc. Am looking at HP currently but they look a bit pricey. Be better to get a pc without a soundcard in it etc. Views appreciated cheers.

cause i have these old tracks i imagine putting a lot of effort into getting it ready and then nobody checking it out because i'm not in their ekt top 10 list. in fact , i'm pretty non-existant as far as the ekt goes, so i don't know if i should bother. Boost my self-esteem WATMM, you're my only hope.

Does anyone have any webspace to spare for the band I'm in (www.thefeelgoods.com) We have to find a new server for our official .com site and we don't want to a free service that puts banners on our site. I promise we won't hog any resources and if you give us ftp access we will send you free stuff and try to make you happy. We won't have large files or host anything illegal, we are legit. Please reply to this thread if you can help us. Thank you.

producers, do you ever come up with some stanky shit so good that you just sit there and laugh to yourself when you hear it? is that weird/narcissitc or what's the deal with that?

At the moment I'm using Reason to put tracks together for my ep-in-progress. However, I'm using it in a weird way, since I'm using a lot of live instrumentation (ie guitar and drums).. So this means I load up a Redrum module with all of my guitar and drum recordings in it and trigger them when needed. As you may be able to tell, this gets really annoying, because my recorded parts are long, and if I want to hear the track from a certain place, I can't just click that particular measure because the recorded parts won't play. So, what can I do about this? I know nothing about Ableton's latest capabilities, will it let me record and play back wav tracks so I can rewire …
