Most of you have probably never heard of me, but maybe you'd like to check out my new album anyway. It's kind of "idm" like, but I hope to bring something new. I'll be posting samples on http://alchemy.no/mobius/ when I get the mastered CD, and I will probably offer a free MP3 download of the entire thing, if I can't find a digital download distribution outlet (i have sent email to certain known places) It will be pressed with a digipak and mastered professionally, and if you really want to support me you can buy the album for 10 euro including shipping(which would also include the artwork, which is awesome). The cover is made by Jeroen Advocaat and it is GORGEOUS…

ACP047 Koen Park - Computers Are Not Our Friends - 17 tracks Koen Park gets all political in his old age ;) Don't let that put you off tho! He's delivered another amazing record free of charge "The idea that our lives revolve around computers so much is depressing and a little soul destroying. Inanimate objects essentially controlling what should be the animate. The more we get into the internet social cycle, the less we actually are part of a healthy society. This is the personal level. Government, poorly run as is nearly always the case, controls us just the same...they push us down into inanimate objects, ostracized from each other with the apathetic bu…

Tapage - Fallen Clouds

TA024 | Tapage: Fallen Clouds Tapage: Fallen Clouds Brilliant or misunderstood? The Netherland's native Tapage caused quite a stir last year with his debut album 'The Institute Of Random Events' last year for Tympanik Audio. Some have described his sound as utterly groundbreaking, while others carelessly dismissed his unique vision of futuristic dark IDM. No matter how you cut it, Tapage has charmed his way into the hearts of Tympanik Audio listeners and is undoubtably here to stay. Tympanik Audio is proud to present the new album by the highly engaging Tapage titled 'Fallen Clouds' in late April 2009. A destination that never reveals, leaving the li…

Rolling Stone: Dark new disc with a bluesy border-town feel arrives in April I'm listening to Billy Joe Shaver/And I'm reading James Joyce/Some people tell me I got the blood of the land in my voice," Bob Dylan sings in a leathery growl, capturing the essence of his forthcoming studio album — raw-country love songs, sly wordplay and the wounded state of the nation — in "I Feel a Change Coming On," one of the record's 10 new originals. Set for late April, the as-yet-untitled album arrives a few months after Dylan's outtakes collection Tell Tale Signs,...

Bas van Huizen - Ontgalman

• tube'|164 - Bas van Huizen - Ontgalman Runtime: 49'26'' «Bas van Huizen comes from The Netherlands and brings us a richly detailed and overall awesome album built entirely on loops of reworked live samples of guitar, metal objects and singing bowl. And nothing more. All the pieces are complex structures and are dramatically enhanced by the compositional talent of Bas van Huizen and of course, all the live recordings would have to be of great quality to make such an album. 'Ontgalman' titles are all made up words, but they also carry something in their names that reminds us of real and fictional things. Take my personal favorite 'Metaalmoed' for instanc…

MILIEU BRITTLE PAPER CATHEDRALS So I've spent some time crafting my newest ambient mantlepiece, and for those of you who liked my previous Infraction releases, Of The Apple or Brother, BPC should deliver. I haven't made music like this in about three years (A Warm Wooden Hollow was completed in 2006) and after some time off of the 'polite ambient music' circuit I have a renewed interest and hopefully a fresher outlook. Musically this material consists of three 'suites' made up of clusters of separated tracks. Meandering (yet pretty) melodies and tones swirl around with barely any repetitions, and organ pedalbass-lines anchor the chord changes down beneath th…

Purse Candy- One Day I'll Look Back (debut album)

So some of you may know I help run www.unnamedlabel.com. I went to middle/high school with this guy Matt Ellis. He moved to Portland a few years back, but we kept in touch online. I came across his myspace recently and discovered these sounds: http://www.myspace.com/mrellismusic Something catchy like Jason Mraz or John Mayer, but with a light electro touch. I loved it, and we will be releasing a 6 track ep plus remixes from a stellar lineup later in 2009. Admittedly, this isn't anything 'new' or overly original, but the production is excellent, the songs are absolutely infectious, and listening to this stuff just puts me in a great mood. It's easily access…

CF020 - VA - Anyone Can Make Dubstep
by Guest oxynucid- 8 replies

CF020 - VA - Anyone Can Make Dubstep To be released Sun 12th April at www.TheCentrifuge.co.uk. In an homage to those true "mainstream innovators" Radiohead, we've taken "Anyone Can Play Guitar" and turned it into "Anyone Can Make Dubstep" a excuse to release something a little different to our usual output. The idea was to solicit tracks from our artist roster and friends utilising the 2-step motif and/or elements associated with it, with the hope that our broad musical church would offer up some original musical communion, or at least something grotesque to sacrifice at the altar. We've got some great tracks on there from Centrifuge regulars, some new faces and…

Oh yeah! Screw you guys who don't like them, this is the definitive and historical archival of their catalogue. Available in Stereo *and* a Mono collection. All 14 albums. I'll be able to destroy these pathetic 1987 CD versions. Hopefully no noise reduction or brickwalling, don't fuck this up like "One", a pathetic release sonically.

Oooh my, I've just ordered this. I love Vol.1 so I can't wait for this one, the samples on Boomkat sound utterly breathtaking ! I'm not a fan of his usual micro-techno tracks, but these are completely out of this world, stunning stuff.

Any fans lurking around watmm? I know Kate Bush gets the props on this board at times, and it was primarily the comparisons between Kate and Bat For Lashes that got me checking out the new album that's been garnering excellent reviews all round. I must say that they're totally justified as well - this is a sonically excellent album that, coupled with Natasha Khan's gorgeous delivery, is defiintely a contender for one of the musical highlights of the year.

Ok, so this actually came out in october of last year but it's very good, one of the best releases of 2008 for sure. It's basically electronic tinged shoegaze/dream pop with the girl who did the vocals on A Cloud Mireya and then her sister sharing vocals and a guy from Secret Machines doing the instrumentation. Really good, catchy pop music.

Celer, "Engaged touches" (out on new label Home Normal in March 2009) New blissful ambient/Neo-classical stuff, which sounds a lot like William Basinski, Manual and Stars of the Lid. Mindblowingly beautiful, if you ask me. Listen to some of it here: http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=169895 And here: http://www.homenormal.com/releases/celer-engaged-touches Or other music by Celer here: http://www.myspace.com/celersite The official release description goes like this: The music of Will Thomas Long's and Danielle Baquet-Long's Celer is an absorbing combination of classic ambient, minimalism, and – perhaps as the most distinct charact…
