The impact Sakamoto Ryuichi had can scarcely be overstated. His contributions span far greater than many of his immediate peers. I’m glad I did because it really endeared me to him. He was battling cancer back then and has gone back and forth with his health since. Anyway, I recommend the film for fans or people who want to learn more about him. YMO's BGM is probably one of the first records to feature the 808, if not the first (the other contender is The Monitors' Nobody Told Me).
