Some really cool (and expensive) Autechre Oversteps posters up for sale on the designers republic shop. I'd love that blech figurine personally but these are some crazy prices.

seems like something a person could DIY though. get some paint and correct paper and make some splotchy circles. not trying to belittle the work. i know there's more to it and i like the album artwork a lot. just saying, seems like the posters are rough sketches of the ideas that ended up as the artwork. if someone wanted they could find a hi-res copy of the artwork and send it to one of those places that will print it out for a small fee and send it to you in a frame.

at those prices i would assume those are the actual art used for the album.

i’ll just wait until there’s a 25th anniversary poster or something, i quite like the art but i ain’t fuckin rich. could but like at least 3 Quaristice steel version with that kind of money. 🧠

edit: yeah the text on the site at individual items clarifies that these are some of the originals. there's more tho.

Well, if the issue is not the fact that DR made it (so you should collect it) and you really like this japanese style ink on paper, I suggest you take Bokusho calligraphy lessons.
It is a "Glitch" version of the traditional japanese calligraphy with sometimes fascinating results and always great fun.
In Bokusho it is very common to make at some point a circle to "prove" what you've learned. Here is mine, FOR FREE, haha.

For that price for the figurine I’ll go down to Fukuoka, dig up the clay and make you one myself.

Edit: fixed that monstrosity of another thread. Apologies all!

yeah, a hell of a price, but eh, if someone's ready to spend that money, let TDR take that money, dunno, don't mind

what's fun about spending that amount of money, is that you don't even know who drew those circles,

it's not like you'll buy from a famous artist or whatever :

quote from an interview of Ian Anderson :

" I worked out, given the formats that we’d been asked to design for – CDs, vinyl, inner sleeves, outer sleeves, boxes, labels, t-shirts, magazine ads, posters, potential backdrops – that we’d have seventy-two opportunities. So I asked the people in the studio to make seventy-two attempts at a perfect circle, some with paintbrushes, some were done with felt tip pens. So whenever you see a circle on one of the different formats, every one of them’s different. Every label’s different, every cover’s different, every different format is different."

btw his story about the idea of the overstep's cover is interesting, link below (many of you wattmers spotted it already somewhere  I guess)

tDR briefly had up a few leftover postcard boxes for this and AE_LIVE as well up earlier today apparently. i'm assuming just a handful. all gone now. :catrage:

noticed a few of the original Oversteps artworks have sold as well.
