Tribute to Wearing Headphones without Listening to Anything

The winner of the MOST IDM tournament is "Wearing headphones without listening to anything"

 

As are our customs, we should make a tribute album.

 

Deadline: Feb 10th 17th!

 

Rules/guidelines:

 

1. Submit tracks to cytoplantastic [at] gmail [dot] com. This is easier for me than private message.
2. In the email, please include your artist name and track name, and specify which is which (it's honestly hard to tell sometimes).
3. Tracks can be any style/any length. In theory, if you submit something over 15 minutes it might be hard to fit into a compilation album, but never say never. A lot of my favourite tracks from past comps are over 10 minutes, so go wild :)
4. Please don't master your tracks. We'll master them all together so they flow... If you're using compression as an effect, that's obviously OK... just leave a bit of headroom.
5. Please send tracks in undegraded audio format. WAVs, AIFs and FLACs please. No MP3s.
6. All tracks must be previously unreleased. The album must be fresh.

I'll have the tracks judged anonymously by a panel of some watmmers, and some non-watmmers. The judging will be on the basis of how much they like the tracks, and how much the tracks relate to the theme.

 

The album art is already taken care of this year, and it's quite good :)

You ever wear headphones but accidentally they were plugged into your mic port, and you were also somehow accidentally recording?  Then you listen back to the recording, and you got this binaural 3-d warm crunchy cracking sound, and you're like, "What the fuck is that?!"  And then you stick Q-tips in your ears and you tear through nests of termites that are burrowing into your ear canals, then you're like, "LOL", and then you start ramming your fist into your own asshole by accident.

Very much looking forward to the Peace 7 submission as he was the most passionate campaigner for the theme! As for me, yeah this is a tough one... Gonna have to live in this concept for a while (wear headphones everywhere) and draw some sort of inspiration.
