i don't think i've seen anyone mention bookworms in here but a lot of his stuff is on the twisted dance beat vibes that AE have always played in. this most recent one reminds me of Quaristice in some attitude and ideas. a lot of the recent bookworms recent stuff seems to be largely unedited jams so maybe that's part of the comparison, but i mention it also because it sounds quite raw at times, so be warned that the volume/etc is messy and there may be some clipping. anyway, well worth any rough edges to dive into this one and the others imo.

among the many things that bookworms has published,  I particularly liked those 2:

something a bit out of the ordinary:

the same guy has a youtube channel, mostly with technical videos; this one has microtonal scales that vary, making for interesting passages

it was my post written in an unclear way.. it implied that I was referring to something other than the video

btw, here's my chance to post some new trippy clip by J. Plotkin

i think i posted this here somewhere but since we're throwing modulars around.. edit: btw this is from the dude who runs MetalBox modular. chatted w/him once about this patch. he said it's 10 voices and a bunch of sequential switches, noisering, sequantizer (wiard sequencer)

it seems that gamelan is not the only Indonesian space trip.
Kecak dance (Bali):

For me, this is a mnemonic echo to this obscure vinyl that my brother bought from some thrift shop back in the late 90s, which had both gamelan and kecak recordings from 1964. All I remember is that it was titled "Monkey Dance" or something.

This video also invokes a similar hypnotic vibe to the ending of Apocalypse Now!, as well Koyaanisqatsi and the Sardaukar homeworld scene from Dune: Part One (2021).
