to approach this subject in a dominantly intellectual manner or intellectually at all for that matter, is a mistake. spirituality is not intellectual, it is spiritual. these two on the screen are only making the fools of themselves; they are puffed up and quite brainwashed by the modern worlds interpretations and its dead words regarding false, churchy christianity and religion. this discussion has little or nothing to do with true, biblical spirituality. fox is churchy-bullshit-propaganda, designed to lead people further away from their true spiritual wisdom and lineage because the-powers-that-be know that if this wisdom was to take hold in the right way, there would be no power to be had and no money to be made.

no one was talking about spirituality. If you think that scholars don't have a right to give a subject rigorous intellectual study just because it is vaguely related to "spirituality" to some people, than you need to take a looooong hard look in the mirror.

what argument is that, exactly?

Not sure if you could even call that an argument, but she seemed to think that a muslim can't or shouldn't write a book about christianity. All the writer could come up with was "but I'm a professor with a PhD"

exactly, i mean he wasn't born yesterday and he obviously had to know that fox news is supposed to be right wing, christian and stupid and their questions will also be right wing, christian and stupid-themed with an obvious agenda. instead of simply explaining why his background doesn't interfere with his research or how he deals with its interference he simply points at his "medals". this is just pointless r/justiceporn fodder.

He comes across as an obnoxious cunt. Oh you've got a PhD? Really? Why not tell me again I haven't heard enough times already.

He's really just saying that because bitches keep questioning his authority as a scientist.

@redruth: it's historically and socially relevant, I don't see what's wrong with religion as a subject of study.

I'd like to see some credentials in this thread. seriously, you expect me to read these posts without a clear explanation as to how exactly your respective biases aren't discrediting your arguments?

je ne think so.

I agree that he lays it on a bit thick with the PHD stuff but I would say is what he's doing is refusing to go the way Fox news wants him to go, i.e. becoming aggressive and argumentative.

By not going in that direction, remaining polite and continuing to come from an angle of reason he's frustrating the hell out of them as they want him to follow their programmed 'provoke and then shout down' pattern.
