Been digging the Laxir comp, but would love a flac upgrade and all the missing additionals...
sadly I don't have a lot to contribute that isn't readily available already...

any chance of rebooting this project sans Jason?
it seems amongst WATMMers this could easily come together in the course of a few days via a google doc share?

Anyone on what.cd should check out the collage "Autechre: Discography, Remixes & Side Projects"

Spoiler

I have grabbed everything already, save for the few tracks listed as "missing".
If someone were to give me a list of everything I could fill in what I have.

Was this project squashed from "above" like the Monty python foot?

A lot of work was going into this, then suddenly it brickwalled.

Did "they" shut the whole thing down?

Nah I think people realized this would actually take effort to do and abandoned it

Relatively o/t, but even though Ae themselves denied it (iirc), I find it hard to believe deco Loc isn't a remix of Being Boiled. The first two minutes or so are quite similar and at around 1:35 a voice that's remarkably similar to Phil Oakey's says "s-s-s-s-s-stop your" (as in "stop your sericulture"). From that point on there are some weird, vapoury vocal samples (which probably have an obvious source too) and the resemblances abruptly stop there, but what do you think about the first two minutes? Anybody else noticed the similarity?

I have been compiling flac rips of AE n Gescom mixes (collected from hard copies using EAC and/or bandcamp/digital retailer purchases) for some time now. I use my flatbed scanner to grab the cover art in HQ as well. I'd be happy to contribute to the collecting process as it were and perhaps coerce a label to wade through the licensing hell and put it out. Here's what I have to offer in flac more or less in chronological order:

Remixes:

01 - Buck-Tick - Iconoclasm (Don't X Ray Da DAT Mix)

02 - Higher Intelligence Agency - Speech3 (Conoid Tone Reformed By Autechre)

03 - Palmskin Production - Evolution Of The Beast (Autechre Mix)

04 - Saint Etienne - Like A Motorway (Skin Up, You're Already Dead)

05 - Beaumont Hannant - Psi-Onyx (Psix Million Dollar Myx Oscar Goldmans Bonus)

06 - DJ Food - Sexy Bits (Autechre Ae9V Mix)

07 - Scorn - Falling (Autechre - 'FR 13' Mix)

08 - Softballet - Jail Of Freedom (Jailtilsli)

09 - V - Vliezwei (Vliegenbos Morning Reproduced By Autechre)

10 - Cylob - Sanq (Autechre Mix)

11 - Impulse - One-Six-Four-One-Seven - Numbers Rammed Down My Ear Mix By Autechre

12 - Lamb - Gold (Autechre Mix)

13 - Mike Ink - Paroles (Autechre Repoles)

14 - Nav Katze - Happy? (Qunk Mix By Autechre)

15 - Silvania - 1Belm : Autechre Mx

16 - Spacetime Continuum - String Of Pearls (Autechre Mix)

17 - Gescom - Keynell (Remix) [this is the one exclusive to Radiomix]

18 - Gescom - Mag (AE Remix)

19 - Jimi Tenor - Take Me Baby (Remix)

20 - Lexis - Hypnotise (Autechre Slow Mix)

21 - Medium - Celsius [Autechre Remix]

22 - Merbow - Ecobondage [Ending] Ae Remix

23 - Nav Kate - Happy? (Qunk Mix Dub)

24 - Stereolab - Refractions In The Plastic Pulse (Feebate Mix)

25 - East Flatbush Project - Tried By 12 (Autechre Mx)

26 - Skinny Puppy - Killing Game (Autechre Remix) (Bent Mix)

27 - Tortoise - To Day Retreival

28 - Tortoise - Adverse Camber

29 - Jürgen Paape - Autechre (TR7AEremix) Vs. Jürgen Paape

30 - Nightmares On Wax - Sal Batardes (Purple Mix By Autechre)

31 - Phoenecia - Systems Mono Version

32 - Squarepusher - Two Bass Hit (Ae Mix)

33 - Various Artists - 9 (Autechre Remix)

34 - Various Artists - No. 8 (Æ2 Mix By Autechre)

35 - Freeform - A.T

36 - Jello - Neph (Autechre Ultramatique 6 Mix)

37 - Seefeel - Autechre Remix Of Spangle By Seefeel

38 - Team Doyobi - Push Chairs For Grown Ups (Autechre Remix)

39 - Earth - Coda Maestoso In F(Flat) Minor

40 - Sensational Meets Kouhei - Sensachre 10 Mix - Autechre Remix

41 - Kid Acne - Eddy Fresh (Gescom Remix)

42 - Kid Acne - Eddy Fresh (Gescom Dub)

43 - Surgeon - Whose Bad Hands Are These? (Autechre Remix)

44 - Unique 3 - The Theme (Autechre Remix)

45 - The Black Dog - Tunnels Ov Set (Autechre Remix)

46 - Anodyne - Close Your Eyes (Corporation Street Remix By Autechre)

47 - The Bug - Skeng (Autechre Remix)

48 - The Bug - Skeng (Autechre Dub)

49 - Deneir - The Winding Ladder (Autechre Mix)

50 - Oberman Knox - Dilankex (Autechre Remix)

Production for other artists:

01 - Schaft - SKFI0047

02 - Mari Hamada - Aire Is Cute

Here's some examples of my artwork scans which would be the best available as far as I can tell (scaled them down considerably for upload here):

Spoiler

Far from complete but could help the 'initiative'. I should note that while I do have a rip of the Radiomix CD (used to own it and sold it two years ago) I have tried to source the remixes contained on it from elsewhere where available as the Radiomix is unmastered and generally doesn't sound as punchy as the others.

Hi all, excuse the semi spam on this old topic. Keith Moliné, The Wire writer who penned this guide to Ae remixes in the OP, is doing a free talk around his article at Bleep’s rather nice Dalston pop-up shop Bleep x on Wednesday evening. Roll thru if you fancy it, 7pm.

My fave mix? Gotta be Ae’s take on Surgeon’s Whose Bad Hands Are These, a mindblower!

since this topic is bumped i have a curious question i havent been able to find much of an answer for

Anyone on what.cd should check out the collage "Autechre: Discography, Remixes & Side Projects"

Spoiler

I have grabbed everything already, save for the few tracks listed as "missing".
If someone were to give me a list of everything I could fill in what I have.

in the sidebar on that image, does anyone know what that 2002 gescom garbage-data title is? i have a 'copy' of it (it's not an audio file, just... a file) and i have no idea where it's from or what's it for. anyone?

You guys ever wondered how the Earth "remix" was made?

It's based on the version from Pentastar, that's obvious (and not from Hibernaculum, as stated on some places) - but it's a note for note cover version, and not a remix. If you compare to the Pentastar-version, it's clear, that it's not a mix or distortion of that (there are tiny little differences that tell this), but an own rendition.

But I can't imagine the guys as grabbing guitars an playing Earth... And if that cover is made on synths and computers... - it deserves more than a credit: because it sound's a hell like live guitars.
