While I do really appreciate the works of Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, etc, I find something particularly special about Boards of Canada. I'll get to the point, does anyone know of any artists like BoC? I think Christ, VHS Head, and freescha are probably the most directly similar. Isan, some stuff by Quinoline Yellow, early Mouse on Mars albums, are also fairly similar, though less so. lovesliescrushing is amorphous shoegaze that gets some of the same feeling. Stars of the lid is drone ambient, but is sometimes somewhat similar. Also clouddead's albums have a similar vibe. some of the albums that are closest for me (while not being cheap copies) are vignetting the compost by bibio, in decay by com truise, living exponentially by tstewart (machinedrum), galaxy garden by lone, persistence of vision by vhs head, and ten by clouddead.
