I was not yet a teenager in 1990, but it was the start of the transition from listening to parent's collection to swapping tapes with friends.  So from Beatles, Kinks and Morricone to Jarre and Pixies.

I didn't get to listen to doolittle until about '93.  91-92 was just full of so much good new music, and we had to rely on someone buying a cd and then passing it around to be copied as my 12 year old's budget would maybe stretch to half a dozen cds a year. But back in '90 (maybe early 91) one of the older boys on the bus home from school passed me a copy of bossanova.  Rock Music full volume on walkman = mind blown.  Its one of the reasons I've always had a soft spot for it and why I dont see it as lesser in any way compared to doolittle and pilgrim.

Well! Lol I was born in 89’ so I don’t remember listening to anything in 1990 lol. But the first two albums I remember... I got a Sony Walkman in 1995, for Christmas. And my two first albums were cassettes No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdoms and Skee-lo’s I Wish. Actually still love those albums to this day ?

1991 was when I actually became interested in music, so the above were all what my parents/relatives thought I would want to hear.  Interesting that I received so many cassettes as presents, considering I wasn't yet into music.  By the time Nevermind came out it was all I cared about (that, G 'n' R, Metallica, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Anthrax, Megadeth, Alice 'n' Chains... I was 10 at the time.  Still love all of it.)
