Off topic as fuck: I feel like the intro synth on Fok Julle Naaiers is sampled from something like Flight of the Navigator, but I can't track it down.

I think that they want to destroy hip-hop and that they are teaming up to make something so exaggerated that it makes all hip-hop seem ridiculous. Sort of like the Windowlicker video. I do enjoy them though regardless of their motivations. Miss Vi$$er makes "my dick all hard".

KLF comparisons have been bandied about several times, and it's something I can see.

The acid house references are a little over my head. The only acid house I was exposed to as a kid was on compilations and mostly more mainstream.

I think Evil Boy is my favorite song of theirs. It is actually quite good IMO. Mostly because of the very interesting and thoughtful story behind it. (If N1NJ4 wasn't bs'ing about it)

Fink you freaky sounds a lot like this.

it's not an acid house/rave thing for me. it's a conceptual thing, commentary on a genre or attitude by their mere existence. there are a whole bunch of people who glamourise being poor and stupid in south africa, much like many nations (contrast SA's 'zef' with 'chav' in the UK, 'knacker/sham' in ireland, 'white trash' in the states, and so on). they're playing it dead serious with tongue regardless firmly in cheek much like the KLF did.

also waddy's been knocking about doing interesting rap music for many years now.

so he's well aware of the terrain he's navigating, so to speak.

I hate to post this all over the place and then take ages to follow up on the goods but just putting it out there that I recorded a chunk of the Aphex Palace show and I think some of the better all round footage I got was the Die Antwoord appearence in its entirety. You just have to ignore my idiotic "FUCK YEAHHHHH" and "DO IT DOUG" and my friend's "oh you were right dude, its fucking Die Antwoord" comments as they appear behind Richard and then walk to the front of the stage. From what I've seen so far, and I'm pressed for time and internet access so I might be wrong or thinking of different videos, my recording is a bit more stable and clear and complete than some of the other stuff people have posted so far. Mine is certainly not perfect and I might be wrong, and maybe someone elses is better but I look forward to sharing it as soon as I can remember to copy it from the harddrive to my computer at someone elses house with an internet connection. Video also needs to be deinterlaced for some reason and I don't recall having to do that with other recordings from the same camera.

..pretty much a nothing post but I'm bugging out and need something to do.

it's going to suck if the next Aphex Twin album is just some collab with Die Antwoord (nothing good can come out of that). I want a proper Aphex Twin album already.
