if any of us here on an electronic music forum can answer that correctly, then joyrex needs to start handing out honorary PhD's or something...

I think the obstacle isn't that answers to the problems of modern times and realistic visions for a better future don't already exist, it is that those who have them aren't in power.

yep.

will they ever be in power? seems like anyone who challenges the status quo usually gets stomped out before making it very far....and also, there's just not many of them.

Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio arrested yesterday for burning a BLM sign at a DC church, he also had 2 high capacity magazines on him, so now weapons charges as well. Good thing this was timed to keep him off the streets tomorrow, hopefully.

not sure why, but the first thing i thought was he had purposely tried to get arrested to avoid any responsibility for anything that happens tomorrow- either for himself or the entire proud boys. there's still a lot of high energy for tomorrows MAGA march with full marching orders from general T

also: a co-worker of mine who is pretty MAGA has a wife who has gone full blown MAGA now claiming that "she just has to be in DC tomorrow" after watching the country she loves be stolen before her eyes. my guy is now stuck betwix a rock and a hard place as he tries to calm his wife down (she's trying to find flights) and remain loyal to the party of patriots.

it's nice that fox/trump have primed their audience with the concept of biased media and false messaging. they tell them that leftist media is extremely partisan. they tell them the Congressional Dems are orchestrating hoaxes.

so... that's kind of the first step, done. i would like to think that it can be possible to recognize when one is inside of a deceptive ecosystem. people can maybe start with a good concrete example that serves to illustrate disingenuousness on one side of the argument, and strong logical support on the other. like, that raffensperger call recording. sure, trump's talking points are in there, but it's a pretty dramatic human moment in which raffensperger and his lawyer also make their cases earnestly and clearly.

I'm imagining DC tomorrow is gonna resemble that x-files alien invasion event...the one where all the people with the chips implanted in the back of their necks are drawn to one location at the exact same time, for reasons they can't rationally explain to anyone else without a chip implanted.

dude in all the mass gatherings that have occurred over the course of our planet's history, I honestly can't think of a better time for a mass immolation event to occur than at tomorrow's stop the steal rally in Washington DC... for them to all gather together in the most pointless of events, only to end up getting set on fire by a bunch of faceless alien rebels, would be the piece de resistance of donnie's maga movement.

too lazy to read that all, what's the gist of it?

I didn't read it either, but the words "marxists" and "lenin" in the link sorta give me enough of a reference point to infer where this is headed...

Two items in the 'So You Want to be a Socialist' starter pack.

A socialist revolution can't be done as a side-hobby, and the state apparatus's existence cannot be ignored and sidestepped, it must be seized and utilized, so professional revolutionaries are needed to act as the vanguard party representing the interests of the proletariat to seize state power and use it to implement socialism in the way most appropriate to the material conditions of the region, using it to defend socialism against imperialist effort to destroy it and convert the would-be socialist region back into wage workers, and after the material conditions and industrial capabilities are sufficiently advanced the distribution of beaurocratic state power into merely aspects of day to day life in each region can be finalized, after which the state whithers away and communism has been achieved and can be advanced

now you're talking. make it rain copies of FightClub on DVD for empowerment purposes.

delusional = because it's not gonna happen because (looks around at everything) but a fun complicated dream none the less.  so, saying it's a delusional dream is not commenting on any theory.. just the likelihood of realizing it.

i appreciate the effort but this forum is choc full of smug funko pop synth nerd liberals there's no use sending them actual theory

I mean to be fair I get why people stay away from theory. I went from being largely apolitical for most of my youth, to deciding in my mid 20s to read a few theory texts for fun, which has snowballed to the point where I'm reading theory five hours a day, waking up in the middle of the night to go look for pdfs on libgen, etc. And if anything I feel much less confident now than I did five years ago in terms of aligning myself with a particular ideology or explaining how I think civilization works. Theory is a rabbithole. i imagine teamsports is just so much more efficient if you want to dedicate most of your time to healthy relationships & appreciating art & shit like that
