https://xoop.bandcamp.com/track/basz-gear-9 Been very impressive with this person's work, however small the released discography may be. Prep Murder in particular is killer. Pun intended?

Found out about this on d.catalogues twitter but wow it's good. Does anyone know if there are more jams anywhere? I bought off bandcamp for some dollars (its pay what you want) and I'm thrilled. https://wolf421.bandcamp.com/releases

Just found the new Datasette EP on Spotify. Too early to give an opinion about the whole thing (too excited to be the first one to post about it in the releases forum ) but the title track is really really good! https://www.discogs.com/Datassette-Mannequin-on-the-Run-EP/release/10632523

Artist : Paranerd Title: Silktrops Label: Touched Music Cat no: TM38 Format: CD 100 Only/Digital Country: U.K. Style: IDM/Electronica Release Date August 25th 2017 Description. The excellent Touched Music for Macmillan Cancer Support, standby to release the third album by Canadian producer Paranerd, ‘Silktrops’. It’s dropping this week on CD and digital formats, with striking, colourful cover art and a promise to provide acid, ambient, braindance music. From the first track, Paul Goguen delivers on all fronts, with funky, laid back beats, reminiscent of early Detroit techno and lush interweaving pads and melodies. If braindance music is the ability of…

Sonic D - Past Lives Out now on Bonding Tapes Cassette and Digital Ambient, Ambient Techno, Sound Design. Sonic D is mostly known for his Juke productions but he managed to record some minimalistic ambient through out the years (2002 - 2012 to be exact). This is his "Selected Ambient Works" so to speak. And yes, the artwork is inspired by Designers Republic work on the Warp 10 campaign.

This is a strange album indeed. Locks On Our Doors, Not On Our Hearts is a new piece by Australian artist Tarquin Manek, devised in collaboration with poet Martina Quake of Canvey Island, UK. It was originally commissioned for the Ears Have Ears programme on FBI Radio, Sydney, and recorded on Valentine’s Day, 2016, at M.E.S.S. (Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio), utilising EMS VCS3, Oberheim OB-Xa and ARP 2600 in combination with cheap, contemporary consumer electronics. It is, to all intents and purposes, a short, cautionary story about love. It is also a folk-tale, a science fiction, a suicide note. Last chapter and worse. Unusually for a long-form spoken word p…

Physical copies are long gone by now but might be of interest around these parts nonetheless. Self-described "TBM" with emphasis on the Techno part. schwefelgelb.bandcamp.com/album/den-umgekehrten-atem Would recommend getting the prior releases listed on the bandcamp site as well if you're digging this one.

‘FIGURE’ Tears Of Change feat. Brendon Moeller, Hatti Vatti and Merv. Link: https://rohsrecords.bandcamp.com/album/figure A limited edition Cassette / CD mini album Italian duo Tears Of Change featuring a range of all-star cameos, Figure runs the techno gauntlet in the finest way possible. Everything is covered from Hatti Vatti's fractured beat twist of "Figure" to the warm dubby bounces of the brilliantly titled "Magic Marmalade" via the hip-slinking jack of "New Life". Finally New York's finest pharmacist Brendon Moeller joins to help tell the final chapter with a pensive suspense piece where the drums are not what they seem. Change: don't fear... Shed a t…

Looking through Boomkat's back catalogue, I stumbled across this gem. I only had to hear a minute or so before it was an instant buy. Digitalis activist Brad Rose maps out three passages to synthetic galaxies with Kevin Danchisko of Sovetskaya Gone. For the keenest of observers, they dropped two tapes last year, but 'I Will Be Missed' is their first vinyl release, containing three new tracks of vast and mysterious drones punctuated with starbursting synth patterns and a wide-eyed effect harking back to early 90s ambient qualities with a nod to narcotically laced Americana that fans of Oneohtrix will adore. However, as it's a Digitalis release, there's somethi…

"Speeed describes the album as “conceiving an interior territory: an abstract space to process the oppression, confusion and insanity of the contemporary age; and to formulate an honest emotional and artistic response – a psychic jumping off point into an uncertain future.” Lol. Some of these artists - seriously. So pretentious. You made some tunes, dude. Nothing more.

Hi all, I'm not sure I've mentioned this before, it's taken so long to do. In my day job I've just compiled a 4CD set of 'Formative UK Electronica (1975-1984)' for Cherry Red. I figure it might be of interest to some people here. For some reason the history of electronic music has never reallly been explored or given its due, and I feel quite militant about trying to fill in the gaps in the 'official' history that seems to have become set in stone. This has been two years in the making, so it feels good to finally get it out there. There are a few omissions - people who wouldn't or couldn't license tracks for whatever reason - but in the main it's a fairly enormous ov…

Over the last decade, Bournemouth-based Chris Moss has become one of the more reliable sources of hardware-driven acid house revivalism. Here he turns up on Polyibus Trax with a trio of razor-sharp, analogue-heavy techno workouts. There's a refreshingly no-nonsense feel about the industrial strength riffs, woozy chords and slamming drum beats of "Black Philip", while "The Waiting Room" is the kind of nasty, muscular acid house shuffler that will get dancers sweating at 5am. Arguably best of all, though, is bizarrely titled flip side "48858275 2294438", which builds up slowly via psychedelic acid lines and positive chord progressions, before morphing into a Brown Album-era…
