From The Now Wave: "The Finger is not so much a release as an explosion. It's a 4-track live EP with videos of the tracks being performed and it's a playable live effects software for producers, performers or anyone else who wants to get their dutty hands on the sound. Tim Exile has straddled the producer, songwriter, performer and inventor/programmer roles for years. The Finger is a mission statement of how things are gonna be in future... bringing this all together to open up the future of instruments and performance and connect with the now wave." Link.

very commercial but a really fun listen, don't think he's kidding himself in any way that he's still the same person who made 'boy in da corner' (which he obviously will never top). only about 2 stand-out tracks for me, 'money money' and 'leisure', the latter which i'm linking; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAhtQkc2-oU

//NEW.RELEASE.EXPERIMEDIA expcd008 - ian hawgood - the great allure ian hawgood - the great allure (cd)Experimedia presents the latest addition to Ian Hawgood's growing body of work, 'The Great Allure'. A very personal and heartfelt album, 'The Great Allure' amasses six passionate movements into a tribute to the memories of traveling by train. Inverted pianos wrapped in a blanket of distant fog seen peering through a train window dripping with wiped away condensation. Forehead against glass with a melancholy gaze towards the passing landscape. Broken voice and hand claps layer subtle nods to Reich. It is truly a privilege to present this particularly profound work of…

Red Snapper - A Pale Blue Dot EP
by Guest awkwardsilence- 9 replies

So apparently, Red Snapper are back together, and they released a new EP on Lo Recordings back in October 2008. After having this revelation earlier this month, I just recieved the EP and I've now listened through it once. It's good. I hope this means there's a new album coming.

By the time of Estrangement's release, Drudkh had apparently also already recorded their seventh full-length album, which is titled Microcosmos and will contain five tracks. It will not be released through Supernal Music. Because this band says basically fuck all about nothing it's impossible to tell when it will come out. I assume they just need to get a label to release it, and that shouldn't be too hard. Just thought i'd give a heads up cause i'm sure there are a few fans here.

ACP059 Wahn - The Secret Tapes Of Van Dison The 2nd release on Acroplane from Wahn contains some of the most interesting dark soundscapes we've heard this year, and shows a leaning further into wonderfully bassy dubstep territories since 2008's 'Alt.binaries' EP. A cohesive, distinctive work that exhaustively explores some of electronica's darker realms. We love it. Cover design by Louisa Donnelly - www.louisadonnelly.com Mastered by Alex Lennon - www.myspace.com/mizzalxntheperson Thx for help and support : Alex, Lou, Lu, Paul, Ben, Labtop Session, Phon[Off/on], Greenwich and Gary. 01 - Tape start 02 - Arrhythmia 03 - Ash Tree Lane 04 - Le Hall …

Never heard of this guy until recently but this is some of the best new stuff I've heard in a while. Weird mish-mash of styles, sort of weird spacey disco with elements of dub and wonky. Love the samples, can't wait to hear the whole album. One of his tracks is remixed on the new Mary Anne Hobbs comp. Check it out! http://www.junodownload.com/ppps/products/1459522-02.htm

So the lovely folks at I, Absentee have reissued my 2007 album New Drugs For Nuclear Families Of The Seventies, with 8 bonus tracks (3 previously unreleased), all remastered from the original tapes and packaged up in kinky new artwork (with naked 70's women!). I only pressed 100 copies of this album back in 2007 and it's always been one of my personal favorites, so I'm quite happy to see it back again. If anyone missed out on this before, or is new to my work, the sound could be described as melodic psychedelic bedroom electronic music with jazz and funk breaks from the 60s-70s and big humming basslines, tied together with some live instrumentation. Two tracks even featur…
