VVVVVV was pretty fucking hard. i didn't finish all the little accomplishments or whatever, but i was able to beat the game. one intense weekend.

i'm sure someone is gonna come in with 'oh that's pussy shit' and have something far harder to suggest.

Bullet hell games are hard as fuck. Also, graphic adventures that make no fucking sense and are based on clicking and interacting with every single combination of objects you can think of until you find the one that works (and doesn't make sense at all).

Seems like most "hard" games are merely a product of their clunky controls. Hence, why old platformers were super hard.

Also, download Counter-Strike:Source

Try surfing, or bunny hop servers. Both are pretty difficult.

The crimson room was pretty challenging as well.

Shall I tell you why you didn't finish all the accomplishments - because one of them involves beating the whole game without dying once. Without. flipping. dying. once. ?!

Binding of Isaac is pretty tough. But probably not as hard as most of the other games mentioned here...

the arcade version of dragon slayer was just impossible unless you sank a few grand into the machine to learn it.
