we need a running sexual assault/misconduct outing thread. I just read that stuff about Charlie Rose.

it's a bummer. his interviews are really great and he seems so reasonable level headed but apparently.. not so much! and another woman came out w/a story about al franken that's more recent.. while he was a senator.

and wtf that video of the collection of 16 women telling  a bit of their stories about trump.  the trumpites really hate hillary a lot. wtf.  it's obviously all true. he admitted lot's of it anyways in various interviews.. the stuff about walking into dressing rooms for miss teen usa or whatever it was nad probably every beauty pagent shit show he ever was a part of.

happy thanksgiving america!

nothing too big here. as of yet.

but it seems pretty obvious this is not a typically US thing. or hollywood, or washington for that matter. this happens everywhere there are power structures. and is not restricted to a specific gender either. humans tend to behave despicable when power is involved, regardless of gender.

pretty trivial observations, obviously. but I'm a bit surprised about all the blatant outrage. it seems to be some kind of necessity to show outrage to show you're on the right side, or something. pretty ridiculous. and extremely tiresome, imo.

the movement can still be a good thing though. no arguments there. needs to happen. just hoping for a bit more rationality and all.

Seems like some of the liberal talking heads want to use the cultural atmosphere in the US to re-try Trump in the court of public opinion, and the one woman's lawsuit against him may help bring it back into the public consciousness.  The channels of information are just so partisan these days, conservatives only want the Fox news version of a story, libs want WaPo or MSNBC, etc. to filter out their version of events.  The fact that Trump gleefully admits he's a perv scumbag is infuriating.

How can the free market decide when most places in America have one ISP to choose from? And any other potential competitors would have to use the same infrastructure which was subsidized by taxpayers in the first place (not to mention having hundreds of millions or billions in capital to begin with).

There's no answer except money. Money money money.

And this is one case where "Meh, both sides are bad." is demonstrably wrong. Democrats have consistently championed NN and are actually against the corporations shitting on the customer.

it's interesting to think that both net neutrality and deregulation / free markets are often presented as 'freedom' issues separately, and yet when deregulation is discussed with net neutrality it is framed as being problematic. so are we sort of exposing the idea that naive devotion to free markets creates a lot more problems than it solves? if you're going to tear up regulation, at least have something that replaces it that reflects our current knowledge, including public interest. it begs the question to suggest that private interest benefits the public, and bulldoze over any opposition without considering the facts. and yet this happens all the time when discussing any issue of deregulation "it's in the interest of the public because it's in the interest of the private sector. look! cheaper goods and services!" public oversight is good. whistleblowers are good. there are enough examples of large entities doing ghastly shit that defies human decency because apparently corporate personhood is a right up until the point where you need to actually think like a human.

guess we all assume the net will naturally become less of a hell scape

lol he is so relatable, no wonder lower/middle class folks love him, hes one of them!

Yep, it's crazy when you hear an interview with a factory worker in rural Mississippi who says he loves Trump because "he gets us".

Isn't that who this trashy kitsch is designed to appeal to? What self respecting upper class person would actually buy Trump merchandise?
