Contemporary Vision - Now

http://contemporaryvision.bandcamp.com/album/contemporary-vision-now Contemporary Vision's first full album release for both the artist and the label. The release starts off on an ambient note with deep dub elements in the track 'Odyssey;' the dub continues towards a minimalistic techno spectrum in the second track 'Now.' Simplicity and air accompany each track as Contemporary Vision describes the moving stillness of the present in a relaxed state. 'Zenium,' 'Spiral' and 'Scape' identify more fullness and energy in the later workings of the album. Ending the experience in a melodic sanctuary called 'Secure.'

Aside from the use of N and 2 in the title this is very lovely music reminds me a little of a more laidback grandaddy (especially awol marine) currently liking the opener and the title track: (search didn't find another thread for this)

Who else is on board the awesome train with me? I haven't gotten it yet, but I heard it when NPR was streaming it. If you print this cupon before this Saturday (4/7) , you can get the cd cheap ($7.99) from best buy. I'm waiting until the 10th to get the vinyl.

"The last Siriusmo release, the 42 track compilation "Pearls & Embarassments: 2000-2010", has been released almost a year ago, just shortly after the critically acclaimed debut album "Mosaik". In the past months Siriusmo has locked himself into the studio to work on a new album. No gigs, no releases. Silence. "Doctor Beak's Rantanplant" is meant to shorten the waiting time with some pleasurable Siriusmo entertainment. The 3 tracks here give you a hint on what to expect from the yet untitled next album planned for end of the year. But maybe the album will sound completely different? With Siriusmo you never know." http://www.monkeytow...ytown024-12inch

"Oh No's album, based on samples from Rudy Ray Moore's Dolemite, will be released June 5th on Five Day Weekend. Look for an exclusive advance release in late May exclusively at stonesthrow.com. Oh No's been hinting at this album for years now. When we first heard of it, Rude Ray Moore was still alive. He died in 2008. The record features a who’s who of the hip-hop underground: MF DOOM, Evidence, Alchemist, MED, Guilty Simpson, Roc C, Damani, Prozack Turner, Ea$y Money, Pok Dog, LMNO, Phife Dawg, DJ Romes, Chino XL, Erick Sermon, Rapper Pooh, Phil the Agony, Jose James, Frank Nitt, Wildchild, Sticky Fingaz, Termanology & Roc Marciano. 1. "Exercise #1 (Entry)" 2. "Exercise #2 (School)" 3. "Exercise #3 (Building)" 4. "Exercise #4 (Spirit)" 5. "Exercise #5 (September)" 6. "Exercise #6 (December)" 7. "Exercise #7 (Loss)" 8. "Exercise #8 (Change)" A press release notes that this eight-track collection is made up of "subdued piano and synth-based pieces." It's said to be a departure from 2009's debut LP Continent, in that it "is all snowy walkways and long corridors, endless escalators ascending to desolate concrete plateaus. Each track feels like an exploration of lost memories, studies in nostalgia, exercises in spatial remembrance." The album is largely instrumental, and only one of the tra…

Lone - Crystal Caverns 1991

This was released just today. We already knew Crystal Caverns 1991, but the more i listen to it, the more i love it. Vulcan Mill Acid kinda sounds like a filler, but the fact that it is Lone's first heavily acid tune to be released makes for compensation. A delicious treat while we wait for the new album! Crystal Caverns 1991 is actually Lone's rework of this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VMY9HBn_5g It sounds very original anyway, and above all... it sounds fresh

'First part of the Drexciya re-issue series! Drexciya might need an introduction for some, for others it is the most influential techno project ever. Part of the heritage of Detroit's Underground Resistance, Drexciya explored techno music like no-one else before. Raw and uncompromising music that reflects the harsh environment of the city where Drexciya was conceived. The aesthetics and the mythical approach combined with the unique music made this one of the biggest cult projects in techno music. Drexciya arguably stands for the darker side of techno and electro, music not only made for the club scene, but a further development of the music as an expression and extension…

After 30 years working on their respective ongoing music projects, Vince Clarke (Erasure / Yazoo / Depeche Mode) and Martin L. Gore (Depeche Mode) come together for the first time since 1981 as VCMG to release a brand new album on Mute, preceded by a series of EPs. VCMG is the fruit of initially tentative discussion and subsequent enthused collaboration where Vince and Martin, both influential as pioneers in electronic music, get to exercise their lifelong love of the genre as the techno inspired VCMG. As Vince explains: "I've been getting into and listening to a lot of minimal dance music and I got really intrigued by all the sounds… I realised I needed a collaborator……

Holiday Mountain - Become Who You Are

Holiday Mountain presents: Become Who You Are We here at Holiday Mountain are proud to announce our first full length album; Become Who You Are. The result of half a year's worth of sweat and labor, we have managed to cram in all manner of psychedelic cosmic screams, dubbed-out reggae drumming, gorilla-thick bass frequencies, hairy horn sections, synthetic phenomena, and guitars so gnarled and soggy that you probably wouldn't have even recognized them if we hadn't told you. Enjoy. You can listen on Bandcamp, or right here at www.holidaymountainmusic.com. Myself and the rest of the band would be most honored if you would take a moment of…
