One of the best covers I've heard in a long time. Eggshell has a beautiful melody.

Alright folks well I'm back with another sickeningly fanboyish idea. What if we listen to the entire Ae discography over the course of a few weeks/months and discuss about it periodically. I like going to shows to listen to music WITH other people, and sometimes me and a buddy will sync up a track so that it starts at exactly the same time and discuss how awesome it is. Its basically just a splooge of autechre fanboyism but if this had to go anywhere, the Ae forums here on our own Watmm is the place. I'm thinking we listen to an album for like 3 days or so, and then move on to the next one. Just the idea of knowing that all the other ae fans on here also have the …

Its on to the break of dawn! I'm tentatively revising this week's schedule so that Peel Sessions pairs up with EP7 instead of Cichlisuite. It was released in 1999 so it fits better. At this point we're only at the '95 era

Autechre Autechre secretly involved in Ninja Burger franchise?
by Guest Drahken- 4 replies

So I was placing an order on Ninja Burger for lunch today, my usual double ninja burger with a side of wasabi fries, when I decided to check out the parent company for the Ninja Burger site, Aethereal Forge. What a discovery! The logo is damning evidence Rob and Sean are secretly involved in the clandestine distribution of ninja burgers everywhere operating under the auspicious alias of Aeon. http://www.aeforge.com/ http://www.ninjaburger.com/ Or AE Forge are unscrupulous and jacked their logo, but that isnt very exciting.

Gescom 1 2

So everyone knows that the gescom collective is shrouded in secrecy, blah blah blah... anyway I was enjoying meself some gescom the other day when I got to thinking about some of the other artistes known to have been involved with gescom at one time or another. As for the more prominent ones I've been enjoying Rob Hall's mixes for some time now, also been slowly working my way through Bola's discography (loving the Jello album at the moment). I'm curious to know if there's any other stuff from gescom associates worth checking out... besides ae and the above dudes the discogs page for Gescom lists Andy Maddocks, Mike Williamson, and Russell Haswell amongst the member…

So i just acquired the double LP of this album and it's allowed me to enjoy it in a different way. It has very different mastering done to some of the tracks, Perlence sounds like it was meant to be on vinyl. was curious if anyone had it and if they prefer it over the CD version. I think it works better on vinyl than on cd personally. I got Draft on vinyl and was a little underwhelmed by the sound quality compared to the cd. It's too bad there wasn't an ultra AE fanboy vinyl release with 4 lps including quadrange and the 2nd bonus disc.

I've never seen her react to music this way before! So im just sitting in my room smoking and hanging out with my kitty cat. Shes sitting there asleep. And as soon as rettic ac comes on, she shoots awake. Shes staring at the speakers looking like shes about to freak out. Then, as soon as tewe comes on she just lies back down and goes to sleep. it was pretty cute, i must say. anyone else have animals that react weirdly to autechre?

This track is gorgeous. I found it only as the last track from Palm Springs California (1999) live. Did ae ever release this? I can't find it on discogs though. I played it on the small floor in the woods this summer... it fits perfectly :) Anyone familiar?

Hello, For all those who make music here - particularly if you have a knowledge of Max/MSP (because it's something I know nothing about, this idea of music and musical systems being programmed from the ground up) and particularly if you understand generative methods of composition - how has such experience and knowledge affected your appreciation of Autechre? Has it revealed them to be lazier than you thought, or more imaginative than you originally thought?

or are they a continuation of the ideals introduced in modernism?

You know, those releases that still have to catch your attention and respect. For me it's Draft and Quaristice

Sublimit almost seems like a remix of..

Umbra Penumbra by Mira Calix. The melody throughout the song is definitely reminiscent of the melody in the end half of Sublimit. And for the distorted vocals in Sublimit? Sounds to me like samples taken from Mira's Song. Just thought I'd share..
