So, my bro is sitting beside watchin a program on Sky 2 about Dennis Nilsen, and then i hear a snippet of the second song off of draft. Then Overand kicks in to set the scene as he lures a victim back to his flat. Then Tapr kicks in for the victim being wrapped up in a sleeping bag by Nilsen. Mad.

I think this should include any live bits that have yet been unreleased, any tracks from comps unreleased anywhere else and remixes. but of course listing them all would be absurd, so just list the ones you can remember - 1- Stop look listen - skam comp 2- Nftwa4 - warp pool party compilation 3- Push Chairs For Grown Ups - Autechrer remix - team dyobi Push chairs EP 5 - Autechre systems mono version (remix) - Phonecia Odd jobs ep 6- Entire Glasgow 2005 soundboard recording 7 - Refractions In The Plastic Pulse ( Autechre Mix ) - sterelab EP 8 - All 4 'tracks' in the 2001 montreal show that have never been released (2001 tour) 9- Panic(remix) …

So I put all the track lengths into a spreadsheet and crunched up some graphs for each album that show the comparison of track length. I didn't bother doing the albums with less than 4 tracks. Quite pointless indeed but it is mildly interesting to look over: Incunabula Basscadet EP Amber Anvil Vapre/Garbage EPs Tri Repetae Envane EP Chiastic Slide Cichlisuite EP LP5 EP7 Confield Draft 7.30 Untilted Quaristice Quaristice (Versions) Quaristice.Quadrange.EP.AE

I'm almost kind of disappointed with myself for not discovering this track's existence earlier. I noticed it in one of the recent threads in here and after a few listens I feel this is one of the solidest tracks I've heard. Great throwback to the Tri Rep/Chiastic Slide era. If you like Ae and you have not heard this, sort that shit out pronto! It almost sounds like it was constructed using a similar sound palette as the Sonic the Hedgehog games for some reason.

Whilst waiting on new material from Autechre and having already dived deep into the Ae backcat, I would experiment with opening 2xyoutube windows and try and match 2 Ae tracks for a fresh listening experience... I am suggesting that any interesting results you guys make please post them so we can all have a listen... here is my first submission with the correct titles on youtube: I suggest playing Autechre-Pir and Slip by Autechre (Reversed) Enjoy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djI-vVdytd0 lol, i had to do it. watch it all the way through, as it rewards you as it goes on. This is my 1st editing job, so excuse the cut corners and general haphazardness of it. It starts picking up at 1:55 or so.

I have compiled a handy spreadsheet of all Autechre and Gescom remixes, compilation tracks, etc. I understand that this information is on discogs (which I used as my source), but it's kind of difficult to sift through everything there. Boards of Canada tracks are included in a separate worksheet as well. Hopefully at least one of you will also find this useful! Please let me know if I'm missing something from the list... Btw, if anybody has nu-Nr6d (flac) or 90101-54-1 and is willing to share, please pm me... how are we supposed to legitimately get these tracks anyway!?

Autechre It's about time we have an Ae wiki
by Guest Spittal- 16 replies

People, this is overdue... Ae has little information available on their official websites, and their current Wikipedia page is very limited. With our collective information about Ae we can make a massive, organized resource about Autechre that will serve for GENERATIONS! Now, we all know this is way, way to big of a task for just one person. So, I ask the community for help. There are a lot of steps involved in making this happen, and we'll all have to contribute what we can... FIRST OF ALL, after doing some research I figured that a "MediaWiki" package hosted on a server will probably suit our needs best, (some more info on mediawikis here http://www.mediawi…

Dear ae fanboys , this will probably deliver you multiple orgasms;;; Has anyone of you been in Usenet (alt.music.autechre) in 2000/2001? I was, under a pseudonym. Discussing ae. And one day Jesu^w "Peggy Babcock" appeared in the group, saying "this is sean ae here". (The "warp night disgrace" thread). We agreed this was Sean. Good times. Past... http://jump.fm/UTLBM Not sure whether this proves anything. I have been meaning to try this for a while. We got our first snow here today and that always puts me in the mood for Cichlisuite. I had a minute so I figured I'd go for it - fired up Reaper and sloppily mixed/tempo-matched these. They're not hard panned because hard panning hurts my brain. Some sections of the beginning almost seems too similar to be a coincidence. It kind of falls apart in the middle when Chunge does its Cipater-like transform but a lot of the drum hits are still in the same spots, which makes me think it's not the tempo but the time signature that changes. Or something...?

Ae appearance on WARP20 1 2

Hi, first let me introduce myself... I have to say, yeah I'm back to the IDM community. Loved WARP und such from the very beginning, bought all WARP purple records those days,,,, later was in the SLSK idm community, idm-ml, and on the µ-Board. I loved Ae most. Today, I think they went out of ideas. IDM is dead. Is it? I didn't like RDJs Acid experiments (last I liked was Windowlicker) and I think Ae's last major album was Confield, Gantz Graf was the last real convincing track for me. I converted to classical music a couple of years ago which has a lot to offer... And , tada,,, RAMMSTEIN :) Good fun! I'm no more up-to-date in IDM, sometimes I look if there was som…

This track 'got' me early this morning. I had my 'breakthrough' with this track early this morning coming back from a graveyard shift at my hotel. It was like ZANG POW DONK PSCHANG. You know the drill when AE track fully invites you in. Towards the end it started reminding me a bit of Lentic Cathacresis. Any thoughts?

There are no indications on the release as to whether it's 33 or 45 rpm. Discogs claims 33rpm. Is there any definitive answer to this question? I understand that these could have been designed to play at both speeds, like Posthuman's SMAK track.

Heyo everybody. So it looks like we have finished the experiment and it went pretty well I think. Not really too much in the way of data could be gathered from this but still it was an interesting little deal we had going. I'm going to make a list of the people who participated in the experiment just to see how many people we had that actually participated to some degree. So yeah just post that you've participated in some way, and let me know how much you participated. Were you very strict with yourself by not listening to the other Ae albums during the cycle? Were you somewhat strict? Did you barely stick to the schedule? For the purposes of the list as long as you p…

Well here we are, and I'm fucking tickled pink today because Draft 7.30 (AKA Autechre on laxatives) is most certainly my all time fav Ae LP, and Gantz Graf is fucking awesome as well. I did something special for all of you Watmmers today because I have the CD on hard copy and I took some nice high-res photos of the album insert cards because the ones on discogs are really tiny and low-res. edit: You'll probably have to save them and open them with something other than the imbedded photo viewer because you can't see the whole thing at once. So suck on that, taste it with your eyeballs. Afterwards, its time for everyone to start listening and posting your tho…

and Chris Clark quaristice interview in german de:bug (03/08) babelfish translation: De: Bug: Is there a family feeling on Warp? Do you know the other Acts? Sean Booth: Today I have no idea . I know Chris Clark from the name. Know his music, find it however not always good. I saw Maximo park on the television. People constantly said to me, how bad they are. But I found it alright. Nothing that I would releasen as label, but thats not what I'm talking about. In former times we didnt know most Acts. I tend rather with my friends to spend time as with acquaintance or colleagues. Aphex and Squarepusher are not friends, I know them a little. Rob and Tom s…

first of all has anyone heard this LP? I thought i had but after re listening to most of his catalog i realized i either skipped over this one or just didn't pay much attention when i originally had it. If you haven't listened to it since picking up Autechre's Confield ( like i hadn't) i highly recommend doing so. This is probably the most potent influence Autechre has picked up in their electronic music sound in the last 10 years i. Not only do some of the rhythms sound autechrey but the way he manipulates the Buchla is very Fm synthesis esque. It sounds very much like a proto confield/ep7/draft in a lot of ways. Now don't think im saying 'guys a…
