I have come to the conclusion that Piezo is the most wonderful piece of Amber Until 4:40 Piezo is all jovial and bouncy, albeit with sporadic hints of something a little somber. The jumping restlessness ceases at around 4:40 being taken over by the teary eyed beauty. This melodic soaring sombreness is the one robot finally realising it is dying and the jumpiness can't block that out anymore. It's friend is still trying in vain with so much lost hope to cheer his friend up with the now sparsom squelches and bleeps that sound so sad now on the backdrop of the soaring sadness. This is the most beautiful love song ever programmed.

so i haven't been much into ae, i've always respected them and even enjoyed some of their work, untilted is my favourite album and cipater is a genius track. It's just that their music is so demanding, you have to have the patience listen to a track in it's full context to truly appreciate how it progresses. That in itself is genius but rarely satisfying when i just want to put something on that has a melody. however, yesterday i put Sublimit on when playing games with my nephews (8 y/o girl and 16 y/o boy. I continued with the rest of Untilted and even had my first listen to Quaristice with em. They loved it. The girl started jumping along to the music while her pla…

Sounds like a huge aquatic snake thing thrashing around a lab whilst scientists attempt to harness it. It's wicked.

Well it's truly here......winter isn't truly here until my mp3 player is filled to the brim with autechre. I know from speaking to other folks that they also listen to autechre so much more in the winter. Always seem to fit in with the cold, dark and wet weather. Always reminds me of walking about town with hands in the pockets n head hunched into shoulders tryin to avoid gettin soaking wet and freezing cold. Maybe its just me....its probably the autechre talking...

Map Hive (as in a map of a hive) or Maffive (as in someone who can't say massive properly) This is just as, if not more, important than the 'how to pronounce 444 & 777 thread. But how important was that. Good question and have fun. Maffive

I was walking back from class in the rain today, listening to Confield when I got to the bonus track MCR Quarter. I heard it as though I never had before, and noticed that it sounds like an epic orchestra of drummers going to town on massive drums. Picture massive fucking drums pounding out that bassline, and an array of tomtoms over the top. Then around 1:00 in some weird clacky wood blocks come in. At 4:12 some shakers bust onto the stage and spice things up with the shika-shika. It would be fucking amazing. They should also give a Under Boac and Bbydhyonchord a go. fuck yeah

Hi there- I'm as much into electronic forests as I am into analog ones. and autechre always had an organic feel to me-the way they're makingtheir stuff move is often like watching a plant grow in fast motion. and i happen to find that same feel often in so-called world music, meaning field recordings made by ethnomusicologists or otherenthusiasts- you'll find quirky beats in rhythmic freedom and unusual (to our ears) sounds everywhere. and as I'm into traditional music as much as I'm into "avantgarde", ithought, well, why not let you know about some stuff you'd might like to check out?!?!? so, here are some: Gongs-Vietnam-Laos out on playasound, this one i…

Don't get me wrong Richard was a huge influence on my electronic and overall musical explorations, but really, AE just seems to kick a lot more ass nowadays. Why? Here are some of my reasons (Im sure Id get nothing but D. James fanbois yelling at me on his subforum so i'll try it here  ) 1:INCONSISTENT RELEASES - We already have another AE album out that we all know isnt gonna be an EP sized compilation of stuff they had kicking around years ago. It will be studio quality without all the hijinx. It isnt going to be 20 limited edition vinyls. It isnt going to be a bunch of old remixes we could never afford to listen to. It isnt going to be 3 EPs thrown togethe…
