I've just (finally) downloaded all the EP's from Quaristice and was wondering if the artwork is available so that I can have them in cd cases with the rest of my Ae collection :) Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm concerned. I know it hasn't even been a year but do you guys think there is any chance they are done making albums? I don't want to have just gotten into them 2-3 albums before the end of their career.

Autechre Is Confield Autechre's only great album? 1 2

So I was going through my entire collection of music the other day, basically getting rid of albums that I sought of realised I did not like that much. You see when people say they think a certain album is good, they basically mean they like two or three tunes of that album. I got rid of albums that I thought I could not listen to all the way through, what's the point in having an album that you can't listen to all the way through anyway? Using this logic I got rid of alot of albums, I was left with like 25 I think, some obvious classics were left obviously, Loveless and Illmatic for example, and in case your wondering Aphex had the most albums in this bunch, SAW 1, RDJ A…

I ordered Draft 7.30 on CD and it just came today. I've had the album in mp3 for quite some time and so I was surprised when the CD started with a track I hadn't heard before! So basically, I've had an incorrectly labeled Xylin Room for over a year. Here is what I had as Xylin Room. Can anyone ID this track? http://www.mediafire.com/?nt3mcagymyj But this really sucks, because what I knew as Xylin Room was the perfect album opener. Soft ambient chimes set the scene for the greatness to come. Lets just say it will take some time to get used to the real Xylin.

So I finally enjoyed squeller and licflii the other day. I usually skip those tracks but finally came to appreciate them in full. I had a question about left blank though: How did they make the synth going in it? Do you think the melody was all step sequenced or do you think they a random square wave controlling the pitch?

The Wire Autechre Issue #156 (February '97) | Interviews By: Rob Young | About: Autechre Fade in Reindeer on the streets of Sheffield real flesh and blood reindeer branches sprouting from their heads. A trad jazz trio materializing in and out of the crowded streets tooting Christmas tunes for the throng of happy shoppers. Music pumping from shopfronts, building sites, churches. This ain't no industrial hole this is Disneyland. Fade left This is where Autechre live: the road out of town, shops flogging dodgy electronics, Boatworld. Past nosy builders; iron steps, door double locked for protection, Sean Booth, grinning, brewing up; Rob Brown mucking…

Autechre Quaristice review
by Guest ComicMaster- 9 replies
- 1.3k views
I wrote a review a long ass time ago praising it blindly. Then at one point I came on here and made a lame post that was about as bad as pitchfork in terms of actual content, one which tried to write up a summary for every single song. A few months back I updated the review, but I left it feeling like it was written by a crazy person. Upon listening to Quaristice again, I strongly believe that [while the score you may disagree with] I got this album spot-on in terms of its overall style and what it was all about. And now I finally have the balls to post it here where it will undoubtedly get ripped to pieces. Or agreed with. Who knows? http://www.andrew-vs-music…

does anyone know when this remix was made? being released in 2003, but the track shares certain qualities with the garbage ep kind of stuff+original spangle was 1994. second question, if it was made around 1995, why did it take almost 10 years to be releasd?

here are the release dates for autechre's first three releases under that name: incunabula lp 29 november 1993 anti- ep 3 september 1994 amber lp 7 november 1994 i think it's well-known that incunabula is a compilation of older autechre tracks but is amber as well? because although it was released after the anti- ep, anti- seems more progressive and complicated to my ears, i just wonder if anyone knows for sure whether amber was pushed back in order to get anti- out early
