watch but prepare for skimming through whole episodes and it doesn't matter if you miss season two, i did and really don't feel at all deprived. "oh, they're here now doing this, super, oh why are those kids, ahh, i gettit." I watched most of season four though. and that peter dinklage deserves an emmy. I wasn't immediately convinced, but really over all he's doing a great job.

Don't "skim" anything or skip episodes. It's a dense, slow-paced character drama with rich lore & worldbuilding. Skipping around like it's a Soundcloud album preview is a horrible idea and you should ignore that advice it if you have anything resembling focus or an attention span.

Some would say that skimming soundclouds "is wrong man, you just, just can't get the music without sitting in the lotus position and jacking the sound into your navel".

ie: there's heaps of content out there competing for my time, i ain't wasting it on 'slowburn' (read boring), there's a fine line between stuff happening in the plot development arena and days of our lives soapy country. The words and situations may seem important to you to fill out the world but to me they're just incidental stuff that was written that can be edited, deleted or ignored at my leisure.

Did you just fast forward through The Wire until you saw gangsters shooting at each other?

yes. there's little for everyone in the show. if someone like porn, if someone like big guys fighting with swords, if someone like watch supporting characters having boring relationship, hodor. what i mean is not every second can't be entertaining for everybody.

I didn't watch the wire, i'm totally uninterested in live action television (american especially), with very few exceptions unless it's a cool documentary or interview or lecture by or with an interesting person, i just don't care for the way people write for television anymore, it doesn't trigger that part of my brain that would usually give a shit and has devolved into a low brow endevour focused on pleasing the lowest common denominator (or a demographic that i am not). Then with reality based things BBC seems to have stopped making deeper reaching science doco's though and have dumped themselves in the cult of celebrity arena *, which is a bit depressing. I also don't mind saturday kitchen and reality based stuff like that, james martin is a top geeza.

So yeah, i like learning about things and not dwelling on the dull imaginations of boring people. I'm sure it's all rather revolationary to many though and that's fine, perhaps they've not seen the tropes or can more easily turn off their scepticism, more power to them but i've got better things to do with my time.

And this is not to say that i don't enjoy things that are incredibly simple, i mean i watch a lot of anime and they aren't all diamonds, i just feel more at home in that universe, free from pointless emotional droning on to keep the chicks watching.

I fast forwarded into the Wire until i saw already dated/kinda crass portrayal of black america, i only had to fast forward about 20-30 seconds in past the intro of episode 1 though :emotawesomepm9:

So what now ? Are we going to delve into Dario and Jorah's We-love-the-same-woman friends adventures ? No thanks.

pretty sure Melisandre isn't going to let the guy rot in the snow

"You want a good girl, but you need the bad pussy."

haven't facepalmed so hard for ages. pretty much everything involving those spaniard bitches is just so hilariously cringe-worthy and awfully acted.

So what I'm wondering is...

are Melisandre's visions bullshit? Did she actively deceive Stannis to get a child sacrifice for the fire god? Did she just misinterpret a vision of the Bolton's downfall as being instigated by Stannis when it could be anybody who destroys them?
