Gotta disagree, I think it looks iconic. That rusted look isn't easily reproduceable, at least not through non-computer or ai generated methods. Don't fix what's not broken.

maybe it's just really original metal pressed copies filled with rust he kept in an abandoned warehouse in Africa for this whole time to make the sound more warm and u get tetanus if u cut yourself with it...

It's like they buffed up the original art and took a higher-quality photo, which I think is very fitting for a re-release.

Also, I tried checking, but the new one wouldn't be part of the Blackbox interactive images by chance, would it? I might just be misremembering.

yeah. i took an nme picture and rusted it, and it was published in computer arts magazine.

i sent it to rephlex and they gave me some sweatbands as a gift.

thats was done mid nineties and published a couple of years later,

i can't find it, but i also did this thirty years ago >
