The thing I've realised about Peterson is that as much as he's a compelling speaker, I just find his approach unnecesarily agressive. Just not to my taste I suppose :) I feel if he was a little less intense he'd chime with more people.

I guess you have to be a bit aggressive if you’re out of your element intellectually and your target audience is right leaning dumbasses.

Agree. His intro argument was unbearable to watch. And just skipped it after 5 mins of his pseudo philosophic meandering. As it felt like it was going nowhere. Enjoyed Zizeks opening argument better. He was more to the point. And seemed better prepared. Peterson, again, was going into his familiar anti-Marx schtick. I think I like him more if he's in discussion with politicians. I guess because the average politician is worse at pretending to know what they are talking about.

Peterson was in no way prepared for this debate and I don't think he's even read Marx or anything on marxism. He was just straw-manning and got beat by said straw-man by a guy who lives in a dumpster behind the university. A real philosopher vs a charlatan.

2 hours of mind numbing scrambled egg slow cooking.

jordan peterson is redefining what it means to be an incomprehensible mouth frothing rambling idiot, followed by claps and applause.

JP can sound reasonable when he stays in his lane as a psychologist. When he tries stuff like this, it’s like watching a field mouse get eaten by an owl. Maybe this is his way of tapping out, since he’s probably been a tool of Prager U and the Heritage Foundation for a couple years, which does seem bloody demanding. It’s a dragon of chaos!

The most accurate description of Zizek I’ve ever heard.

As to Peterson prepping for a debate by reading something on the topic, I feel like that would be a complete break from his MO.

Maybe he read the wiki page?
