The Rumour Said Fire - The Balcony

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2GjGAWmgsA Really.. this song is amazing! But what does it mean? what do they sing about? The first feeling i got was that one is escaping reality with whom he/she loves, this madness in this world is to much for them, so they feel each other and just escape into them selfs. What do you think?

Japanese vinyl replicas and the Japanese.
by Guest ansgaria- 12 replies

If some of you are fond of buying - and perhaps even collection - music, you probably know of the Japanese editions of some records that are replicas or either vinyl sleeves or gatefolds. Personally I am very fond of gatefolds. So much space for artwork and material, too bad a lot of gatefolds aren't used/filled out properly. Either ways, the Japanese vinyl replicas are special, unique and even rare to some degree. I'm sitting here watching Steven Wilson's Insurgentes the movie DVD, and at one point he's shopping for music and he stumbles across a bunch of Japanese vinyl replicas, finding stuff he had been looking for for some time and says something along the line…

If you don't know him, best study up. http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?id=190 "Sherard Ingram has been an active member in Detroit's electronic music community for nearly 25 years now, stretching back all the way to his first release as NASA on cult Detroit imprint Express Records alongside Scan 7's Trackmaster Lou. Never shy of a collaboration, Ingram spent much of the '90s teaming up with Carl Craig, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir and Kenny Dixon Jr. to create a rich downtempo sound as Urban Tribe on James Lavelle's Mo Wax label, with culminated in the release of 1998's much-lauded The Collapse of Modern Culture album. He was then recruited to be the…

Good music news/review sites
by Guest Backson- 20 replies
- 1.7k views
i'm looking for one. i find myself browsing Pitchfork to get my news. I don't hate it like some, but i don't like indie or mainstream hip hop so its not really good for me. I just want a site that has news and reviews on a broad range of electronic music, and other music as long as its not 90% "sunny indie pop".

i've not been big on lovers' rock previously but if he was good enough for lucid rhythms to remix him he's good enough to investigate: studio or anthologies?

actually i'm sick of most musics at the moment. it's like nothing can impress me anymore and i don't even want to be impressed, i don't feel the need to. the last autechre turns out to be shit in the end IMHO, cylob is dead, afx does nothing, electro and techno artists stick to what they know which is getting awfully boring, and so on... the only music i can listen to at the moment is my own, along with burzum and emperor. a little darkthrone too. one thing that bores me to death is that most music nowadays is made for masses, or some kind of so-called underground elites. some people try to be original and they fail (imo), for the reason that they try to be original. …

I really dig the style of this ep. It's like real spooky illbient dnb. The only other similar style track I can think of Trouser Snake from JamRolyPoly EP by Rubber Johnny aka JP Buckle. Somebody help me out here, I'm a bit of a noob with breakbeats and dnb... edit: Embedded because that shit aint on youtubes. 02 - Leila - Leila 1 EP.mp3

Brand new timeslot on Sub FM, no longer in the long forgotten late hours of Sunday evening. Now on at Monday evening/afternoon depending on where in the world you are. Music can honestly be anything from dubstep to IDM to ambient cello music to 800% slowed down Justin Bieber to acoustic guitar ramblings. Since I'm new to this timeslot, I'm gonna go pretty heavy with the dubstep right out the door not to scare people away quite yet, but on Sundays I built up a reputation for literally playing "whatever" (including Chris Clark & NIN tribute sets, all beatless ambient sets, etc). Hope some of you get the chance to tune in. This new timeslot means more of the w…
